I had been researching on what cities and areas in the US would be considered poker destinations. Places that always have tournaments going and that poker tours come through often.

Las Vegas is the obvious one. Atlantic City and Biloxi, Mississippi as well, of course. And the southeastern part of Connecticut at Foxwoods Casino and a couple of other casinos around there... but what about the hidden gems?

Golden, Colorado seems to be a hotbed for poker.

Where do you play live poker or like to travel to for poker?

I meant Black Hawk, CO.. I was thinking of Golden Gates Casino there. But I'm sure there are casinos in Golden, CO, too.

I do check out Poker Atlas.

I was wondering about people's experiences in different places, too. Not just a list.

I've played at Ameristar in Colorado.
Very frustrating for a live cash game player like myself, because of the $100 maximum bet law.
That was the first time I've ever played limit, and probably the last time too.

Nevada or New Jersey are the only two where there's no anti gambling policies in place. :)

I would say undeniably that city-wise vegas is the winner.
