This is a great community of Poker Friends. I have asked my Family to Support me at a wsop event - they think I am a sinner.

Is there any support from the Cardschat players for support? If, I enter the WSOP?

May win or lose, but $10K to try, maybe. I know the game, maybe I lose in first round - but maybe hang in for the final table.

Getting too old to wait for approval - lol.

You're NEVER too old, But 10K is a lot of hard earned money after taxes.

Just a suggestion: Have you ever thought about playing in a smaller staked tournament at your local Casino, just to get a feel of how you might hold up in the BIG ONE [WSOP]

losing $1,200 is so much easier to absorb then being crushed, and losing $10,000 I would imange.

But then again it all depends on your financial health.

Either way, have fun and may lady luck watch your [six] ........... meaning your [back] lol.

This is good advice, and remember, the WSOP isn't just about the Main Event! There are weeks worth of smaller buy-ins, but still just as cool to play in. Check out our guide here: https://www.cardschat.com/world-series-of-poker.php There is a schedule of events as well.

Keep us posted, and if this is a dream of yours, go for it! Maybe you don't have to cough up the big price of $10k though. :)

WSOP

Yes, I have thought about WSOP and losing $10K. I know it would take several days to play, maybe even a week or so. I would probably need to put up 50K or so to have friends to support me and take care of me, while I just play. I have never played a major tourney away from home.

I just do not think I could play any tourney like the WSOP without major support behind me.
That means a Team - like maybe 4-5 people. Each of the players, I assume come with someone to make sure they are ready to play and schedule all of their days.

I would just need to be relaxed and enjoy the game - not worry about other stuff. Probably just a Dream. Actually, have not proved myself good enough yet.

What kind d of team are you talking about for support? You are pretty much on your own once those cards fly. I think we all dream of playing in the Main Event. But $10k is a lot of Jack.

$10k is a lot of Jack. :dito:

He hasn't even mentioned if he has ANY experience playing such a venue, or any venue. Online or live.

yeah...$10k is a LOT of Jack! Just as a personal test of anything.

You don't need a team unless you make the final table - then you can easily afford to fly people out there.

If you easily have a spare $15k+ and it is a dream then do it. If not go out and play in a cheaper event and just have fun.

Wouldn't concern myself with anyone who thinks it is a "sin" - they need to worry about themselves - what you want to do is none of their business. If they are that judgemental you don't need their opinion or approval.

All the luck of the world, but 10k is a lot of money, at least for those who do not have it hahaha

Have you seen the "Staking" thread here at CC:
https://www.cardschat.com/forum/poker-staking-64/staking-rules-approval-process-read-before-223071/

You need at least 75 posts to create a "stake", think, you're one joke away from that. If you start proving to people here, build a rep that you're the guy to back, you never know.

There are always satellite games to win to move up the ladder to the ticket, possibly even contests that would cover the whole shebang.

I think it's an awesome ambition. I would love to see all of us who seek that level of play, do it. You know me, all in first hand so I could rush back to the forum and post another stupid joke. :D

I also would be happy to play at WSOP but these are a lot of money which i will not have anytime soon to spend on poker. If you have the money and you can afford to loose them without making you problems - go and do it. You can also play some satellites and try to get cheaper to the main event.

I would also be very happy to play the WSOP, but at the moment I do not have that money, but if I had I would definitely go to the table.
