So i know i might get some backlash about this, but here it goes i have a really good friend that loves poker and recently he ask me if i ever won anything big at live tourney, i said the most i won was $650 local casino, i said why ? " its because i wanted 2 play live but u know my situation" i said yes, but that shouldnt stop u from doing what u love!! and then he ask me if i can look or ask around for any advice. so i'm not sure what kind of response i will get, but just wanted 2 ask if any1 here or some1 u may know ever won anything big on live tourney and what kind of paperwork they ask for i know ID is the first they ask, but thats my experience never won anything big to bring out tax form and other paperworks? any1? can hes citizen wife vouch to get hes money out if he ever wins anything biG?:bandit:

this question needs a little bit more information

what is his 'situation'

if you are asking can someone else vouch for someone in terms of filing out forms and such for winnings and taxes the answer is NO.

you need legal identification to claim most winnings over $1000, if you do not have legal identification you should not even be in a casino - not sure how they would handle it if he won and had no ID, he may never get paid - good thing is most mid/higher buy in tournaments you will need legal ID to register so this situation will not exist most of the time

stick to cash games - you do not need ID at most cages to redeem chips unless you look underage

Tournies require ID. I can't recall if purchasing chips for cash tables does, but they usually want a players card, which does take an ID to get.
