So...I have been a member of UltimateBet poker. I had my share of wins and losses. Actually had checks sent and cashed. But, should I be worried about the latest scandal among the news. Plenty of dialog passed but, nothing said gives me the warm fuzzy that it's all good.

Here is a link with some info, anyone have good info to respond.

im worried about all of online poker sites in general. ive played and watched tons of games online in the past few years and the rate of statistically unusual situations just defies logic. something there just doesnt seem right.
btw, i only play low buyins for fun, so i dont care...

LOL...crazy calls is about all I see most of the time.

I did see a couple of names i recognized, but the games in question were high stakes hold'em. I have played some medium to high stakes. Who's to say the cheaters are still out there and just changing the games attacked.

It might be time to try a new site just to avoid the whole thing.

dont bother...theyre all the same. if indeed its easy to hack the RNGs, then everyone is doing it everywhere as we speak. if the RNGs are simply inadequate or their code is obsolete (also likely given the nonstop high rate of crazy situations) then again, its the same s.hit everywhere...

Yes, the rooms of poker of ultimate bet and absolutepoker not look very reliable after the scandals that wrapped them; if you believe that his money is not sure in these rooms you has other rooms as full tilt poker and pokerstars, you can withdraw his money from Ultimatebet and Absolute Poker and deposit in more reliable rooms. if you want my opinion, I not would put one dollar in these rooms (Ultimatebet, Absolute Poker) because I believe that my money is not sure there.

Been at AP and UB for years, no plans on leaving. I withdrew most of my BRs there, but they keep growing back!
I believe they will be extra vigilant and safe for a while. I also believe ripoffs of all types are happening everywhere, just not found yet. In other words, no room is totally safe, but with the 2 above at least I know what the story is (or was).

shady runs

A month ago, I was at a table on Cake with "UFoldWinner". When I was at at his table in a freeroll, I noticed he couldn't lose. He noticed, too and all-in'd every time. We had butted heads before and had a mutual respect, I guess. He said "fish, watch this......ever since I made the final coming up- I can't lose a hand." My reaction was "Yeah, you're that special- they assigned a programmer to your cards alone.

Screw that- a programmer per card!" I expected the table to laugh with me, but when noone commented I got suspicious. This kid pushed 70 hands in a row! EVERY pocket pair, A,K-10 suited along with straights and flushes got SWATTED by this kids rags. He won 67 of those 70. After an hour and a half of folding at several tables with him, I called with rockets. It was all over but the cryin' after that. I am now convinced that there is at least SOME shady number card generating going on- timed to induce deposits, and knock you down when you get ahead. I will never deposit online after seeing that. freerolls til the day I die, and cash games live only.

Also- NEVER USE THE SAME PASSWORD ON MULTIPLE SITES. They scan for connections, and could easily pretend to be you. Much more simple than hacking. Be careful out there, and have fun. Fish

This is Ultimate bet we're talking about..

THEY ALL MAKE CRAZY CALLS...

The ones to look out for are the ones that appear to be playing properly.

Stoped reading here. Why whould any one hack a freeroll?

not saying anyone would but some people are just sick and do it for pure pleasure of seeing other people getting pissed off online

lmfao very good point, but also when a company has gone through something like this their reputation is on the line and I fully believe they are taking every precaution to ensure no other cheating scandals can arise. Most of us make mistakes once and then learn from them. I have faith they now are aware of risks and are taking precautions. I could be wrong but I do think they will at all costs prevent another escapade.

at Ultimatebet or any other site for that matter.....there is no oversight by anyone but themselves...

the "Kahnawake Gaming Commision" is a joke,....they are the supposed overseer of most online poker sites as well as online casinos

the "KGW" is a creation of the major online gambling corporations.....

they supposedly oversee about 500 diff poker sites and casinos...yet the "KGC" is comprised of only 3 members (go to their site and see for yourself)

Kahnawake is based in an indian reservation,...a soverign nation in and unto itself...... nobody can tell them what to do and no country can enforce any laws or court actions against them....geee...I wonder why all the sites use them

the big corps found some indians that would do what they wanted for some cash.... they got an official looking website.....documenting some of their "investigations"......but it's all bs

there is constant cheating in ring games by means of collusion or players with multiple accounts and connections signed into same table

and these other schemes like the UB and AP ones are done by the ownership or others within the company itself.....so how can you trust them

I believe the only thing that can keep an online poker site honest is the fact that a cheating scandal will cost them millions in lost business.........so if you want feel secure ......stick to the sites that have huge incomes to lose ie: Pokerstars and Full Tilt

I've seen this on the news. Great scam though. I wish I could do stuff like that. I think I wouldn't have the moral to say "no". I'm a bit of cheater if I can.

Scandal?

That happened awhile back, an' UB actually refunded me, and alot of others, free money into their accounts---in March, I think! Mass Refund they called it, and since then I've actually been doin' pretty good there----BUT, I don't play in "high" stakes games, either! Anyway, I don't worry about it at all---even when my A-A looses to 9-4 off!

Thanks for the input

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Just looking for open comments, thanks. I have reduced my play at UB, but don't feel that I fell victim at all. I admit I have been kicked by a donkey or two, but that what we get when standing in the corral. I figure it could be worth a few freerolls along the way and see if more develops. I have joined FullTilt in the meantime...see you guys and gals out there.

GOOD LUCK!

I have exactly $0.01 left on UB, although I also have about $100 in bonus money there I will never get released.

I prefer not to support the site at this time.
