cause idiot nazi bush and his cronies made it illegal for banks to let US players deposit their own money into online sites, and party poker is a public traded stock so they pulled out of the US market. Excuse my language but its really ****ing nice my own gov. is telling me what I can do with my own money that I have paid taxes on. Hopefully our new President who is a poker player will reverse bush's illegal law and we can go back to being free Americans and play poker.

Partypoker is a public held company. When the new banking laws came into effect in USA they decided not to provide play for US players to protect there stock holders. pokerstars is privately owned they didnt have the same concern, I am sure its similar to other sites that allow USA deposits.
