It would be nice if the government would ever allow online gaming to take place. They could make more than enough money off of taxes to justify bringing it back to the US. I know that you can still play online at certain sites as a US player, but it would be nice to have a bigger variety like in the past. Also it would open up the credit card company's to allow internet gaming to be considered as transactions. :(

Totally agree with you, poker it is big money for the government.
But it seems that everything is OK in US, so they don't need money lol

It is just a federal legislation issue. Some states, like Nevada allow online gaming openly in their state. With healthcare being such a big deal right now, it might be a while before any progressive legislation passes. When we have a white president the republicans are going to be more likely to allow new legislation to pass. Most likely federal legalization of marijuana will pass around the same time of online gaming in the US. Tax revenues from both will be BILLIONS!
Glory be the Day!!!

I remember how a bunch of people thought there would be a forward movement when Obama was elected because he played poker. Oops, guess that was a vote getting thing.

The people in DC are so stupid. The amount of money they could put into country would be millions or billions. I guess it'll go into play when the people in DC figure a way to put the millions in their own pockets.

Just my thoughts.

I have to say that on that day nearly everyone in America will be happy. Citizens can smoke a doobie while playing some poker legally, and at the same time help generate some money for this country. I'm sick of our hard earned poker and drug money going over seas LOL.:smokin::argh: :D

Would love to see it happen but the biggest issue will always be who can fill their pockets the most from it, Democrats and Republicans will not let it happen until they know they can get a cut.

I hear you!! The potential tax earning from allowing online poker would be into the Billions! Why is it still not done? But on the bright side you see other states like NV and NJ who are paving the way. CA is trying hard too. I find it extremely upsetting that I'm in Texas and I can't even play TEXAS holdem! How wrong is that?

I'm just trying to stay patient and optimistic. When that much money is on the table someone eventually has to walk up and take it.

Those on-line auction sites continue to exist and advertise all the time - which are a complete racket, yet I can't play a $2 poker game.

Well, I guess I can play poker for real money, but it would be nice to be able to make a deposit and/or get paid without some kind of 'cloak and dagger' thing going on.

There is much crying here and for no good reason. You can deposit, withdraw and play your real $$ at ACR, BCP, Carbon, Lock and Bovada. Please try those sites and deposit your money and play. If you think you can do better than the government, step up and offer some of your ideas for ways of improvement; of course, you could always VOTE.

Tax poker

USA should definitely legalize internet poker. If they are worried about gambling addiction; just put a daily cap on it.

+1. I might be a bit of a cynic, but I don't think it's gonna happen for a while

I don't think the problem was ever with poker, I believe the governments problem with online poker was the regulation and stoppage of money laundering

You're probably right. Our government does prefer to have a monopoly on doing that sort of thing.

The U.S. could make money off of it. As of now it has been kicked to the states to decided for themselves. Once the states start realizing how much revenue they can generate, they will slowly allow it. The states will pass laws that require the sites to report anyone who withdraws a certain amount. They can even require the site to withhold a certain percentage of winnings to be withheld and paid to the state for taxes. Same thing they do for real casinos.

The problem with online gambling is its hard for the government to regulate and tax.

Hence why most drugs are illegal if you can plant them.
