Hi everyone! Im playing live poker for many years being very successful but spending hours at the casino isnt my favourite sport so decided to try online poker to give me a break.
What i received was not a break at all but endless ups and downs that would be like 1/10 of the profit i would make live. When i win huge then its like someone is trying to create situations ill be loosing money till theres nothing left:And its not tilt i can assure you.i dont give a penny about this money.
So my question is: Are u winning constantly based on your level and knowledge or are u just struggling to break even with bonuses while taking horrendous unique bad beats all the time waiting for variance to pay off?
Ill never put serious money online unless someone can assure me theyre actually winning. If not i can go back and forget about online nonsence.
Thnx for ur answers

Im up from $16 to $86.80 on a site im playing purely by winning at freerolls. I too found the variance on the cash tables on a similar theme as you so i just play freerolls for entertainment. Poker for me is one of the best pass times and its entertaining. I also spend hours on cards chat reading other peoples stories.

Sure they are. I know people winning nice sums in tournaments but great pros close friends have failed online playing nlhe. Of course they are but i think everyone around here is looking for guidance which means they are not sure about what they are doing. Are u winning micro? or are u struggling? How many years have u been playing? Are u making a living? I know people with 1/3 of your knowledge that crash 5/10 live games for fun.

Sorry nidal I didn't mean to sound rude. I'm struggling / breaking even overall largely due to my tilt issues but there are plenty of people on here who are winning players. I'm not trying to make a living out of it, but hoping to make a bit of extra cash out of it one day.

There are people definitely winning. I cant say me though because at the moment I am still getting more out of live play than online. That is also because I just started, still learning and getting the hang of it! I definitely think that there is a way to turn this around and I will find that out sooner or later!

Do you mean winning as in purely monetary profit? I've had my share of "wins" if you want to call it that. To me though, winning in poker would mean winning in life. I could say "I'm winning" in the sense that I feel my poker /knowledge of the game is 100x better than it was when I started. I also feel like more "wins" will come, with time. I look forward to getting 100x better than I am now. So, yes...I am winning.

Of course some are winners , I have around 2K at the moment in my account built from freerolls and steps wins. Just takes patience and a thick skin for the inevitable setbacks.

1st off are you doing the right BRM?
2nd In 2NL players are going to be calling a lot more then 100NL live poker.
3rd you need to be playing ABC poker well in the micro limits.
Yes you can be a winning online player.

I have found by far more guppies online than live and also have had way more
success live than online...I am glad to hear the belief that its possible to change
that not just for a short run but overall....

Could you give me a few tips on winning in a freeroll, I have not placed yet. I have to make 45th position and the closer I have come is 56th. What kind of freerolls are you playing? How people are in the freerolls that you have won in?

Hi Everton girl, yes it is very difficult to place in freerolls as there is generally a lot of competition that doesnt care. You need to find private freerolls with smaller fields. Use google or pm me and i can offer you some advice. Playing the cardschat freerolls is also good value, you should work on getting into the cardschat freeroll club.

I have never deposited $ on any site. I have started with freerolls on 4 sites. I now have positive BRs on all 4 ranging from $12+ to $430+. Patience is the key to getting started. I now play cash games and sngs + freerolls, still.

I never believed that online poker is rigged and I still don't

I have read many articles suggesting that it is, but I think their reasoning for this is pathetic. They were saying you will not see a bad beat like that in a live game, which is untrue and then they go on to say that ok it can happen in a live game but it doesn't happen as often. Well of course it doesn't, online poker is 24 hours a day and you will see a lot more hands than a live game, so it is obvious that you will see more bad beats online.

I have just had a bad beat on pokerstars, I had Qc and 7c. I raised 3.5bb, got a queen on the flop, so raised 7.5bb and got my 2nd Q on the turn, I raise all in even though I noticed there were two cards that were hearts and I was called I was assuming he was holding the hearts. River came and guess what it was a heart and I lost. Did I think it was rigged, noooo I thought just my luck :D

I finally placed in a freeroll yaaaaaaaaaaaaay. Now don't get excited like I did, it was only $2.25T$ which converted to $2.13 but at least it is something. At the start of every freeroll I would just be happy to place just after the bubble which is $0.90. I am not greedy!

My BR is now $5 as I won $2.85 from FT giving me 10 $0.50 tickets last month. They added $0.02 as part of the points rolling on the edge status. When I finished that freeroll I was like a zombie as it was past 3 am, heck I am still a zombie now :D
