Twitch.TV/Poker makes me nostalgic in the USA

The past month or so I've been watching lot of folks stream online poker games over Twitch.tv. If you haven't yet treated yourself to this experience, you really ought to check it out. Each week more and more pro poker players are taking to the new media to set up and play poker, hole cards exposed (games stream on a 5-10 minute delay) for thousands of amateur players to watch.

As I have been watching players from canada and Great Britain, amongst other locations, grind the tournaments and cash games, I admit to feeling no small amount of jealousy as they play on pokerstars, FullTilt and party poker. I recall all too well my days trying to win a Satellite into the Sunday Million, bouncing my bankroll between FullTilt and Party trying to find the "most fish rooms," and simply enjoying playing with folks from all over the world.

I miss all those poker sites like I miss old friends. I sometimes glimpse them on the street, but I can't step up and say hello, or have a chat with them... The familiar chime that it's your turn... Those crazy cartoon avatars to choose from... Why can't I log on and play a SNG under that big maroon spade?

I remain hopeful (and an activist) for the return of online poker to the United States. Yes, I know, we still have a few card rooms, but they're not the same. It's not PokerStars. It's not FullTilt where you play and learn with the Pros!

Come back to me, Party Poker... I remain sad and bankrolled in the ole USA...

I watch twich tv mostly for games, but i have noticed that poker has been steaming big time all the sudden. I was wondering why since i haven't really seen it on twitch that much. It is pretty cool to watch though since players are very interactive with the chat even giving lessons.

Yes, I really enjoy watching Jaimie Staples on twitch. He's a great kid, well spoken, polite, and very good at tournament poker!

He grinds five days a week, patiently answering viewers questions in chat, and livening up things with his good natured banter.

It's also exciting to watch him win. I watched him take down the PokerStars Big 109 for 18k one night! It was an incredible experience to watch him play and win it all live (on a 5 minute delay) with his hole cards exposed.

There are more and more poker pros setting up shop on Twitch, so there's something for everyone these days!

I was on TWITCH a couple of weeks ago watching a well known online poker player,"BIGDOGPCKT55".While watching his stream,I asked about players not getting paid on LOCK poker and was immediately banned from his chat.I could not believe it. If anyone ever watches him I recommend never ask about Lock Poker if you like him.I thought it was silly and glad I wasn't a fan of his.

I've been watching a lot of the streams on twitch.. I watch a lot of the Gripsed streams, Jcarvers streams and jaimie staples streams plus a bunch of amatures streams. I think it's definitely going to bring on almost a new like poker boom with people being able to watch the pro's hole cards and get to see every hand played and not just what the T.V. wants to show! Im very excited to see what this can bring to poker!

As for the "BIGDOGPCKT55" problem, I've seen his streams a few times not really a big fan but if he banned you for asking about players not getting paid it would really put me off his stream...

LOL, dont really like the stream so im gonna see if he'll banned me and if he does ban me for just asking about players not getting payed on lock then we can run this fake dude down!

Believe me, you're not the only one! Even players from other countries are eager for US players to return to the scene, because we are notoriously fishy

I watch a lot of the Gripsed streams

+1 for Gripsed, great streams and often there are giveaways (in the form of player transfers, subscriptions to twitch channel, or even pizza!) not to mention a general sense of community and comradery (similar with forum)

I'd be interested in others' sharing their twitch links, I don't want this to seem spammy or be looked down upon (if a mod could give insight, as links are not forbidden by forum rules as I understand) if anyone has interesting twitch links to share please feel free to send via PM! :)
