TV/Music While playing online

How many people watch tv/listen to music while playing.

I recently purchased a laptop with a larger screen so I occassionally have netflix on the side while playing a couple of tournaments. I have found it helpful while overcoming the slow boring early stages of some tournaments. It kind of prevents me from playing too loose early.

What do people watch while playing if anything?

I watch everything while playing and on TV and on the computer. I know what is wrong, but I can do nothing.

I like listening to music while I play, because I play several screens at the same time. But at the end of the grind, with only one or two screens remaining, I also enjoy watching Netflix or some football game going on.

Don't watch TV while playing, if I'm distracted by the TV I may miss something on the table. I do listen to music though as that helps me focus.

Of course this is down to personal preference. Still, one can think of playing poker as similar to reading or studying for school. Doing well at poker requires discipline and focus like anything else so probably best to minimize unnecessary sensory inputs. I would say definitely no to TV or other visual tasks, and studies have indicated and if you want to listen to music, it should be instrumental only as lyrics tend to distract from the task at hand.

I like music when I'm playing, but TV strip my attention and this is a problem.

Watch TV

I as well will have the TV on watching a TV series call Longmire (netflix) while playing at a single table. Helps me anyway from forcing a hand after folding over & over again.
However if playing at multiple tables I will only have some music on.

It´s almost impossible for me to play poker without TV.Generally I´m whatching something while playing poker.

I dont watch anything... music just sometimes in low volume... i dont be able to do manythings a time

Mostly Music

I run Spotify on my laptop while I play most of the time but tonight during a tournament I was actually watching Poker Go catching up on the highroller from earlier this week...other then that don't really watch much tv.

About, half of the time TV is on, quarter of the Music, quarter of the time silence.

I used to listen to music that kept me exalted / excited. But recently I discovered that listening to relax music helps concentration and being relaxed even at times when luck does not favor us

Watching TV is not an option for me because it is too distracting. I like to listen some music but i do not do it every time. Sometimes i feel better with music as it improves my mood and sometimes i feel better without music as it helps me to concentrate better. In the early stages of tournament i am usually browsing.

I like listening music to relax while I play poker, because I play many screens at same time. I never watch TV or NETFLIX.

Usually I will have a TV show or netflix/movie playing on my second monitor while having 5-6 tables open on the other monitor. If I don't plan on watching anything I will just throw on some music to offset the silence. Not really into no background sound during my gameplay sessions.

hi, it all depends on the person, for example, music prevents me from concentrating, the TV also .. so, I try to play in a quiet environment ..

i watch twitch and youtube all the time!

waw man this is a good tactics against bad beats.I think I will do the same.I will see only humorous tv shows;so that I will laugh if I lose with

I cannot watch intense movies or series. Then I am too distracted from the important stuff going on on the Poker screen.

That probably dependes on your characteristics. Maybe you have a real air traffic controller mind and so you have absolutely no issue with doing multiple things at the same time. But...If not, your game could definitely worsen a lot.

I am the "my game get´s worser" type of person.

Watching TV is too distracting, I prefer watching youtube poker online.

I like music keeps my mine clear while playing

I do not support this, because it makes my game more difficult, I like to be maximized! Sometimes I just let some light relaxing music out when I'm out of the game, when I'm not in action.
