i have watched alot of pro's get into this treble barrel bluff,
and its fantastic to watch.
iv got to the stage where i feel comfortable to trust my gut and re-re-raise with crap when i dont believe they have it either
i dont try and get into that position. but
i do love the times i get to pull it off!
does anyone do the same thing?>

If you try that too much, you are going to end up needing to take a break from poker.

when it works its a great feeling. Usually does not work in my home games as they like to see the river no matter what...I can pull it off online only against certain regs. Usually i prefer the float play over bluffing all streets. But yea there is nothing like watching the pros pull it off...pros like ivey or negreanu have some of the sickest reads and pull this off quite well.

It depends on the stakes you play.

At micros this is the fastest way to loose your money; people call too much.

hahahaha! i loved this quote
''Usually does not work in my home games as they like to see the river no matter what''
i think you have just solved why i dont enjoy playing with my friends!
and i totally agree with the micro stakes...
i play them all the time! i wondered why it was such a high variance game
i thought id take a month break and come back to it.
everyone was still having a donkoff when i came back :D :D
so much so i stopped FullTilt and moved to pokerstars.
i feel that fulltilt and its happy go lucky Avatars brings out the tilt in practically every micro stakes player.
and after a while you start believing that crap was poker!
stars is alot better on micro limits. and since im broke at the moment im stuck at micro.
im literally playing $0.01/0.02 blinds. what sort of bankroll should i hit before moving up do you think?

I forgot to mention, i started with $0 im now at $18.
I need more experience with stamina building prospects. For an example i allways play freeroll's to the best of my ability, and make every step closer to whatever prize there might be. Just to add to my will power, even if the prize is lame!

I have done it a few times with just slightly over 50% success. Those have to be very specific situations where I am confident of my tag image and my "recall" is just screaming at me that I can get my opponent to fold.

Yea the 4 bet + is always a good feeling when you pull it off. Just don't make it a habit unless of course you know something everyone else doesn't.

The phrase I think of is "Hand in the cookie jar", and that is what will end up happening if someone tries this very often, yet there is nothing that gets the old blood pumping like pulling off a great bluff. Sometimes it isn't even a bluff but a good read.

Interesting.

If you are preflop aggressor, you will have far more chance to get it through because you have represented.

I never do it, far to nervous a player.

I think if you're playing cash you want 20x max buy-ins and if you're playing MTTs around 80-100x your stake. GL at the tables

Dont do this very often because if u get caught , you lose a majority of your chip stack. When it works, you feel a euphoria and greatness. Its not a very good idea if your a tight player, but a loose player can do this only soemtimes like 1 in every 100 hands.

all about the size of the pot... why bluff 3x for meagre winnings? and really i find it rather foolish if it turns out with all those bluffs that you are doing all that work only to get your chips back considering half of the ones inthe pot are yours... like trying to dig yourself out of a hole

I'm sure even the pros who triple barrel bluff re evaluate on each street (turn, river). It's more successful if done as the pre flop agressor. How dry or wet does the board need to be by the river though?

That said I hardly ever do it. I think a lot of players are nervous like that. I probably need to do it more than I do.

I rarely bluff in the micros anymore as everyone calls and I agree that to triple barrel at these levels is spew.

However...if your going to try any bluffing it's all about the story your trying to tell. You need to be extremely aware of your table image. Do they think I'm Tag? or Lag? or just dumb?

For example:
Usually the only bluffing I do now is to occasionally rep an ace or king when one hits on the flop. As I usually play tight my opponents find it easy to believe I have an A or K.
However, I have to make sure I rep it correctly. It's not good for me to overbet that pot if I'm pretending I have a good hand and want action. Flip side is if the flop comes out draw heavy then I want to slightly overbet it to "pretend" to make it expensive to catch that flush.

Of course if they call in either circumstance then chances are I'm way behind and I better not throw more money away. Which brings us back to spew and an easy way to lose chips.
In the micros people will call with dang near anything, even ace or king high at times, so why try to win a few measly chips with nothing? You can just wait to get something and get a lot more with decent value betting.

My level of stakes is too low to triple barrel bluff, by the stage in the tournaments I play where people will fold to it, its too risky to try in case they're slowplaying or get there at the river, not worth the chip loss.
