hands down Cash is the best to play.

If you're going to go forwards with poker as a form of making a living you have to use cash to pad your roll in between the longer downswings in tournaments. Unless you get good enough that you can either use twitch streaming, coaching, selling a book, dealing, to supplement your expenses. Or get staked and charge markup while keeping your expenses and losses low.

Everyone says they either don't like cash games or are afraid to play cash games because they can lose so much money. I mean... not really, the same way you can re-buy into a tournament you can reload in cash. There is literally NO difference other than the blinds never change in cash.. Maybe because some people don't have discipline and chase losses.. but I mean if you don't have discipline when it comes to your money you're gonna chase losses in tournaments as well. No difference in playing 01/.02 cash game buying in for $2 or playing a $2 buy in tournament.

Tournaments are more fun, but not more profitable. I feel like recreational players like playing tournaments because it generally last a few hours and the alluring possibility of the big prize at the top. It's all smoke and mirrors really the top heavy pay out structures of tournaments is terrible generally causing horrible win rates per bb that can be cured by playing cash. Also the fact that by defying the odds offers life changing money.

You said some of the best players don't play cash games they just play tournaments.... like who? You may only see them playing tournaments because tournaments are mainstream and televised, also published results. Cash games are not as mainstream and the results are generally private. I assure you though the majority of top players play cash. and High stakes cash at that. If you watch older productions like pokerstars the Big game, or the loose cannon or Poker after dark the cash game, check bobby's room, or Macau, or go to any of these series like the wsop and see how full every cash game table is or even the newer poker after dark the cash games that are on poker go you will see all the top tournament players playing in these cash games. You will have most of them that "specialize" in one or the other but they still play both because they understand you need to supplement your roll through cash and hope to bink a few tournaments a year to stay afloat.

Cash game is better than the tournament. I play more tournaments than cash game because they are much more interesting and exciting than cash game

If you find cash games in which, like in freerolls, you can play for free, I will play cash tables. :D

But seriously, it is tournaments that make it possible to win really big money. At least once. Someday. May be. If you're lucky...

Ya everything he said lol. I would add that if you are winning or loosing alot of money so quick... probably doing it wrong. It's a grind..just like a tournament. True you can loose alot at once if you can't get away from a hand but the main difference is that you don't have a blind going up to force you to play a hand....it's the first round forever.

Cash games are tapped high this means if you move slitely up from microstakes and players are decent and you make rake not money. In tournaments you can hit big. I personally prefer heads up because it is closer to solved game and you can still make some money and beat the rake at lowest levels then eventually once in a while use this roll to enter Sunday million and go for the big money

since you don't have to ... see where you play better. I play cash in small limits. Then I move to the tournament, too, a small limit. because I still have a small bankroll

Here only one piece of advice will be useful to you - play where you can do it better. I do not play for cash because of the lack of patience and nerves after losing money. I find it easier to give tournaments and sit-end go tables

If I have a lot of free time, then I play in tournaments and cash games, but best of all, if you have a good bankroll, then it’s better to play a cash game and raise money faster, because in tournaments it’s not every time you get into the prize zone and win !

I like both tournaments and cash games and I play them both. In cash games you can win money easier and you can lose money easier. Tournaments need a buy-in and you can win accordingly the position you finish. I prefer a bit more the tournaments because they are more exciting and they are more comfortable and more enjoyable!

cash is faster, in tournaments there is a place for creativity and skill, well, the prize money is usually quite good in tournaments. let's say to win a million in a tournament more real than in a cache with a fairly small bankroll.

Hi guy

His thinking is great, I do not see myself good enough to invest money in poker because I know it will be money thrown away, banking control is one of the hardest disciplines to keep.

Hi.
Currently, I play only in tournaments. In cash games, I lose money very quickly. In my opinion, playing in tournaments is easier than in cash games.

I love cash games but I have to be disciplined and keep away from cash games, I ever lose! In cash games we have freedom about time to get in and to get out, it means that we have to choose one more smarter decision and have to be commited to our plan.

Well everybody has different preferences. You need to find what you like most. Cash games makes you better player overall. Cash games are more complex than tourney's according to Harrington

Both require skill and luck, in my opinion. However, you have to choose what's right for you based on your goals. Personally, I like tournaments more than cash games. But I play cash games on a occasion to earn more quicker.

you should play and that and that everyone decides what is closer to him! but it is worth remembering that a good cash player will more easily adapt to tournaments than vice versa!

I prefer the tournaments. I better find myself in them and I've learned more about them. Cash game I play with friends sometimes, but actively and seriously rarely when. Only tournaments.
