I like tournament, not with rebuy, but a true elimination style tournament, because it forces me to play better poker and not over price my hands, the alure of cash games is nice with the possibility of instant profit, but not for me, most of the time. how about all of u?

I am a pure cash game player lately. I have played a lot of both, but I really enjoy cash games more. TC, I think kinda the opposite about tourneys. People over value hands in tourneys when every decision is for their life. They get too tight and too ready to push with weak hands. Cash games give you opportunities to recover from swings, and I think (obviously people will disagree) that when compared to tourneys a cash game has less of a luck factor. There are more opportunities to play after the flop, and this requires more skill than just pushing away preflop.

99.9% of my play comes from cash games, but tournaments are theoretically more fun for me.

I like tournaments because they limit losses due to a bad decision. The most you are going to be out is your entry fee. If you're running hot and take a really bad beat, you can lose all you've gained in a cash game.

I've been playing more cash games , both live and on line. I seem to win more frequently but in smaller amounts. In vegas at a $4 8 table one can play a long while with a $300 buy in. I do love live tourneys though.

Depends on my mood. There are plenty cash and tourneys to choose from around here.

In Vegas, cash is about the only thing I will even consider anymore. The <$100 tourneys out there suck. I've posted my reasons for this opinion in other threads.

i never have much success in cash games, i cant get out of the mindset of okay..."im gonna get up to x amount, and leave". But what i learned when i was about 15 key to tournies is surviving...i play them much more and have far better results

I like playing ONLINE tournaments and LIVE cash(and tourneys). In cash, if you cant concentrate on your game and you think about the money involved, then i suggest tournaments. Like if you lose 100$ playing NL100 and you take it as money loss, not a buy-in loss, then you'll start playing worse and worse, because if like later if someone posts big blind, you see 1$ not 1BB. My English is quite bad, so i dont know how to say my thoughts correctly. In tournaments, the value of a chip will change. Like if your playing a tournament with 5000 ppl then if you double-up to 2k chips at early stage, then that 1k is much. But when you are in the final table and blinds 30000/60000 then that 1k is like a drop in the ocean. I prefer tournaments.

Sng's are the way to go for me. I really enjoy them, plus I find it easier to 8-12 table them, and still grind out a decent profit.

I like to play tournaments because i can use the blinds to make people make mistakes. Most players start to panic when the blinds start getting high...
