Casino (1995)

Any movie that features Robert de Niro and Joe Pesci must be good, is not it? Following the huge success that was "Good Guys", the famous duo decided to work together in "Casino". Based on real events, "Casino" presents the story of the mafia that raised the Las Vegas as well as an amorous triangle between two mobs and a trophy wife

Rounders was a great one. The gambler with mark wahlberg was good even though it wasn’t based on poker.

I don't remember the names of poker movies, because movies have nothing to do with what happens in life! Movies are made for entertainment and money making film companies, not for players!

Already mentioned above, but my favs, are Rounders, Casino Royale, and Runner Runner. They all dealt with Texas Holdem, and the latter focused in on the online version of the game.

Honorable mention would have to go to Big Hand for a Little Lady. I am a big Henry Fonda fan, and that movie is a classic.

Rumor has it that there is a Rounders 2 in development. Not much info on it, but I did find this excerpt from an interview with Matt Damon couple of years ago.
In a recent interview on the Rich Eisen show, Damon talked about how the option for a sequel to Rounders had been discussed. On the talk show, the multiple Oscar nominated actor spoke of how the youth of today are brought up with online poker, and have seen millions of hands by the age of twenty-one while playing in online tournament settings. This modern way of playing poker has turned it into an entirely different game to the one that was depicted in Rounders all those years ago, and players are now operating on a whole new level. According to Damon, the writers of the film, Brian Koppelman and David Levien, have thought about how it would be interesting to pit the McDermott character from the previous film against the online-poker-trained generation of today.

You can't go wrong with the classic Rounders but I also recommend Casino Royale! The final poker hand is amazingly absurd and my friends and I still quote it at our home games to this day :)
