Can you assist please?

I am a wholly online player but would like to play live at some stage when i get the time to do so. However, one thing is on my mind. Its one thing playing online and desperately needing the toilet, you can just pick up your lap top or mobile and take it with you or fold each hand for the duration, but not so in live games.

What is the official approach to desperately needing the toilet and not being able to wait until the next break?

For more entertainment value, if you have experienced this please share your story.

Thanks

BB

If you are playing only 1 or 2 hands, you should put it on post and fold right after the button passes you, and go do your thing. And I guess if you are playing more than that, you have to do what you have to. I don't worry about missing a good hand. Awhile ago I did this, and just got back when I seen me fold AA, and after the hand was over, I was glad I had missed it, because a set of 8s won the hand, and I would have lost all my stack. GL to you

If I can't wait for the break, I leave the table after I have played the BTN. Please don't fold out-of-turn from wherever you decide to leave as it does slightly influence action, leave after you have played your turn. Too many players will look at their hand when it is dealt to them and if it's one they'd fold they leave right then instead of waiting for the action to reach them. If antes are in play then I will also separate my ante chips from the rest of my stack, placing them slightly in front of my stack. Makes it less easier for my antes to be played while I am away and less likely anyone will need to touch my main stack.

I play more online , but also play some live tournaments and I always played warned the dealer that went to the bathroom , if I went back in time for the next hand I was able to play , otherwise I would lose the drops .

Live , just leave after you have folded, advise the dealer and you will have no problems.
At my age this is a frequent occurrence, but when you have to go you have to go.
