poker news is reporting today (1-21-10) that TJ Cloutier has his 2005 wsop Bracelette for sale on Ebay. I think it said starting bid was $2,999.

The article doesnt say why he is selling it. Is he having money trouble, Is it going to a charity, or is he doing it in protest of something?

If you have any input then let me know.

Did a search on ebay tried several searches and did not find it. Has someone actually seen it for sale? Says auction ends on 24th. Maybe i will buy it it would go well with the autograph i have from him. Now i only need 3 grand to blow on it.

I dont really see the appeal in 'buying' a WSOP Bracelet. Unless you really like sparkly bling lol. Its something you need to win/earn.

Well if you take a look at the ebay page, it is from a pawn shop in Plano TX.

Looks to me like T.J. is having some money problems and pawned off a couple of his bracelets. So sad.

I don't see the appeal to it unless you're a fan of TJ Cloutier. Lol, imagine what you'd say if someone asked you what you won if you were wearing it. Awkward. Lol.

Checked out the auction noticed he has another bracelet he is selling.

http://cgi.ebay.com/07-SCOTTY-NGUYE...temQQptZUS_Fine_Bracelets?hash=item335940edd7

Interesting thing i saw him at this years WSOP watching durring day 5. The guy is huge i got his autograph (no charge). The next day i saw him going full speed down the hall on his scooter.

He isn't selling them per the article I read today. It stated that they are now "owned" by a pawn shop, which is who as them listed on eBay (as jordanbillie stated)

The article that I read also stated that TJ is on the top 10 list of all time money cashes.... so if he is hurting for money, something bad happened or he needs a new accountant. Or... maybe he knows the guy who owns the pawn shop, or owns it himself and has a reason behind it. If anybody lives in the greater Dallas Forth Worth area go ask this pawn shop whats up!

Why would you sell something like that? When I win the WSOP ME I won't be selling it that's for sure.

Oh for sure, he's a notorious craps player. Who knows how much he's played and lost over the years.

Hard to judge without some real intel... and nothing more than speculation is provided here.

Craps? Maybe. 'Any' gambling situation? Possible. Funding treatment of a serious medical condition not covered by a major medical care policy for him/family? Possible. None of the previous? Possible.

Well known players can't hide from media scrutiny forever. I'm sure we'll get some word in the future.

Interesting post -

Without more information I'd say he ran into some financial trouble - Nick pretty much covered his bases - possible gambling trouble, sure - but it's possible he had some excellent financial opportunity come up and couldn't get enough liquid funds to invest in it.

Say . . . his son (or friend, or friend's son) worked out the math and science and theories behind a time machine and needed another few grand to get his prototype together. (Or even him.) Then, he can go back in time and win as many bracelets as he wants - with the advance knowledge of how each hand will play out he'll make back ten thousand times his investment in the first year - and win a jillion bracelets in the mean time.

It's simple economics - BUILD A TIME MACHINE!

weather he's broke or still rich, it's a sad shame to sell a WSOP bracelette. U've gotta plug hours away and earn 'em, it's like selling a thropy!! If I ever won one of them bad boys I'd be burried with it on my wrist.
