Does anyone have tips for playing multiple tables at the same time? For example, play 10 cash game tables at the same time without losing a lot of revenue.

I suggest starting by playing less tables to begin with until you get the feel of playing multiple tables. It can get tricky being involved in multiple hands at once. When I play tables this way I play only premium hands and pairs to begin.

Don't try to force it. Start out with a couple and add in more as you feel comfortable.

You should already be playing on deep enough bankroll to not worry about it. Playing at multiple tables is to get more hands in.

Playing at less than 4 is where I get bored. :bebored:

Start with less tables and add some kind of background noise (TV, radio, whatever). It has been proven by Brown Univesity that background noise being played whileone wants to focus on a task actually increases the focus on said project and/task through subleminnul adhesion in the brains cortex.

It is very easy to go on auto-pilot and start missing things when playing too many tables.

If you can't keep track of the action and think through your decisions you should think about dialing it back some. So start off with fewer and work your way up to more.

There used to be software that would automatically hit your time-bank button so you don't fold your hand inadvertently, but unsure if that's something that's still allowed.

Good luck to you! :D

I tried this recently on pokerstars, was winning comfortably on $0.01/0.02 so thought I'd try playing 6 tables, i quickly lost $20 in an hour or so as I was making calls and folds I wouldn't make because i wasn't keeping up with peoples play styles / VPIP / PFR and when I went back through my history I was making ridiculously bad decisions just because I wasn't keeping up.
My advice, start with 2 and move up when you're confident, make good notes on players as you won't be able to keep track of 20+ players. Make sure you are winning over a significant period of time before you add more tables, and remember that your bankroll should increase with the amount of tables as you are going to have more variance.

Also go through you hand history regularly and make sure that you are making the same decisions while looking at one hand as when you are multi tabling. If not reduce the tables until you're comfortable.

start with a few tables where you can play quietly !! If you have never played more than 5 or 10 tables together, you will be lost, you will not know what to do, then train a mind, so increase the volume of tables to wander so your mind will adapt to volumar .. And the most important, study enough to apply day by day everything you have learned. so you play multiple tables together and you will have a good ROI.

Have the right set up. At home two or three monitors and start with 2 or 3 games and go from there

Just by your Thread Question, I believe you have already answered yourself ;)

But if you need to ask for advice, then you really need to focus on your overall game play before venturing into a very tough environment like that of multi tables.

Doing this will most likely cost you much more money than you will probably be willing to lose.

There are studies regarding how human brains and multi-tasking work (actually don't work very well). These studies largely indicate that efficiency and performance are negatively impacted when multi-tasking. Unlike computers, human brains just aren't built for multi-threading.

Playing multiple tables is not a computer definition of executing more than one task simultaneously; but instead, changing tasks with frequency(x). First one focus on this table, then that table, then this table. At question is the performance cost?!?

A recommendation is to establish a baseline for your acceptable performance at a single table. Do not set the expectation too high... your brain can't be expected to perform at the same level in which it would with a one table focus. Add additional tables until such time that your performance degrades below what you, as a responsible manager of your bankroll, are willing to accept.

And I'm just as confused as you. Usually when playing at multiple tables I lose focus. Can anyone tell me how I can stay focused on all the meals at the same time?

you will need to improve your reflexes and train your eyes. for this you need to progress slowly and once you have success and feel comfortable at each stage start increasing one by one. remember that your objective is to make money and not play loads of tables. measure your progress with your income per table as a multiplier unit.

I usually play 8-10 cash games. This is a matter of habit, and of course the experience

So in this case, play zoom tables would be far more recommended to increase the number of hands / hour? :burnout:

Playing too many tables was interesting at the time that the websites have paid rakeback to players, so many withdrew their salaries paid through rakebacks even if they are linked or slightly losers. The term is also faster and reduces the variance. When we talk about being a winner, it appears that playing fewer tables with more focus on decisions becomes more interesting.

only play higher ranked hands. with more tables going on its much more likely you get some and thus making it much more likely you profit more from it. so don't get stuck playing lower rated hands

As most people have said start with two tables and build up.

What is important though is you take breaks to analyse what you are/ are not missing, for example after an hour playing 4 tables could you write down which players are:
- the regs / fish
- who is on tilt/ who is playing TAG or LAG / who’s a maniac
- who always folds to a 3 bet etc.

This will help to ensure that you are still taking on the right level of information about the play around you as you increase the number of tables you’re playing.

Why to play so many tables? You do not get bigger profit. You cannot watch the evolution of each game. Usually I prefer to play till 2 tables!
