What do you feel is the right amount to tip dealer when bad beat gets 11k. Winner of hand gets 3.7. And table share is about 350 per person with 8 people in the hand..??

anything between 5% to 10% of your winnings would be the right amount to tip the dealer in that case

Personally would tip him something like 100 in that case as the winner.

If you win 3.7k in a bad beat JP and don't tip the dealer at least $50 you're a nit in my opinion.

I won a badbeat in Arizona a few years back, won 6000 and tipped the dealer 600 because sharing is the right thing to do in my opinion, Everyone at the table tipped 10% except for one guy.

Having never played live - I haven't ever tipped a dealer, however, when I go to a restaurant I make a point of tipping 7.5% or as near as. I don't care whether the actual waiter/ waitress shares it or not, although, if I was him I would not share it.

It is polite to tip when you receive good service, but I would never tip as a matter of course. This just gets expected and does nothing to make the individual work hard at their role. :D:D:D

Well, since these money are from "nothing" and felt from the sky obviously you should tip the dealer despite that the money are split between all of them.
Its a good thing isn't it.
And for the guys that dont tip when win so big money.... guys you are GREEDY and that's bad cuz you will always want everything but a man cant get everything.
;)
Tip the dealer, you'll feel better after you do it. :) if i won 3.7k i assume that i would have tipped the dealer about 200

Is 7.5% the standard tipping rate in England?

I'd tip around 3-5% depending on the dealer's overall performance and personality. 3% minimum and I'd max at 5%, maybe rounding up to the nearest round number. I use the same formula for tournament wins.

And 7.5% for a restaurant tip? In the US 15% is the norm, and 20% or better for exceptional service.

I think it's a question of common human respect. The tip is a form of appreciation that the dealer has done a good job. So to my mind tipping is a good thing!

for a bbj, i think anywhere from 1-3% is actually a good tip. Obviously if the amount you win is very high, then the percentage you tip will probably go down. If i won 100k in the bbj where i play 2-5, i would have a very difficult time tipping 5k or more, that just seems excessive for a dealer dealing one hand. I think 2% is a good tip.

Hmmm, you guys are low tippers in general. Where I play, the dealers and the players both seem to expect 10%. I think that is too high. i agree with the consensus here, 3 to 5%

look sorry if offend any dealers out there but i think this practice is ridiculous. These people don't get paid minimum wage they are very well paid (especially in canada, and the US damn unions). They are doing what they get paid to do... after watching their unions destroy our economy where i live screw them they should be tipping me to play. Now think about it you tip them for what a good hand, so everyboday at the table has to tip after winning a decent pot???? cmon thats their JOB and the most outrageous part is in their collective bargaining they have a section for tips!!!!!!! why would i give them more money to do their job?????

If you are playing for a living, its not reasonable, its not profitable.
