Anyone here like to get under the skins of others while playing? Most of the time I do not chat and just ignore the chat of others. Other times I tend to get the so called experts to tilt and bleed off their stack to me.

How do I do it? Well one of my favorites for example is if I suckout with a 2 outer and they start to scold my play. I just tell them straight up "Hey, it was just a coinflip." This tends to piss people off who think they know everything about the game and know 4 sure it's not true. Another one is I use a gecko at FT and in the same situation I say " I may have just sucked out on you to deplete your stack, but I can save you hundreds on car insurance." For some reason being a smart ass really gets under their fragile minded skin.

Anyone here like to share their one liners with the rest of the class?

Like you, I usually do not chat. However, when they do complain about my lucky cards, I always tell them they should have gone all-in preflop and I would have folded. (Of course, this is terrible advice, and they usually do it soon thereafter and get eliminated). I only say this when they start a conversation though.

I like chatting with players during game. Last time a player I considered total donk turned out to be a cool player/person, he was just a bit more agressive than others but that's all...

Of course there's tilt talk sometimes with harsh words...just ignore them. ;-)

I no longer tilt do to trash talk, those days are far over for me. I am talking about getting others to tilt by chatting. It's not that often I find someone suited to use it against, but when I do I find it kinda fun.

I find if you respond to the tilters as if you don't know they are insulting you, it makes them even crazier.

I've had guys scream at me that I shouldn't have played a hand, made a call, sucked out on them etc. and all I do is say "Why thank you"

It makes them crazy to think I don't know I'm being insulted.

Here`s an old poem/ story that I`d like to share. There once was a player to his deplorable fate, kept getting killed by these people on that date. He finally declared with a mighty shout "Muck the player`s and Shuffle the dealer! The other players all thought this was great to have tilted this player and his deplorable fate. They kept pushing on him ticking him off. Not that he played bad his timng was off. This one player kept the needling up and soon the whole table was joining in too. "Muck the players and Shuffle the dealer" he cried again If ya`ll don`t quit you`ll soon see what I`ll do. They kept on and on til finally he`d had enough . He pulled out a pistol and just like he said he mucked them up good and they were all dead. MY word it was a horrible mess as he`d mucked up the dealer and all of the rest. It was awful and an evil brew, It` looked just like coranor stew! So remember this story that when your taking there money alway keep it lite and funny. Never needle a man too hard or you might end up buiried in his backyard......(shared to me by an old rounder in 1978) :embarasse

I do this but stopped doing it as much because I would lose my concentration on the game being played.

I'll say things like...

"Do you even know how to play this game, xxxx?"

"Welcome to poker stars/Full Tilt b****!" (after winning a big hand)

When I target a player, every time they lose I will go "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" or "You suckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk"

OR

I'll act like I'm drunk or just don't know how to play the game and say stuff like...

"Wow, I didn't even know I won"

"Fu***********k!!!"

And keep referencing the songs I am listening to :D

I usually only talk during the CC freerolls. Not a lot to talk about with other people in the mini levels. When people start complaining or arguing with me or each other (rarely has it ever been me) I just put them on 'mute.'

No, I don't. If someone else is doing that, they go on mute.

I like to chat pleasantly. And never ever encourage the fish to change their ways. "Wow, that was harsh!"

I never talk trash except in jest on CC tables...but NEVER a foul word! I usually say tyvm to the person and go on from there. Once I was called several unsavory things on Stars & acted pleasantly till the end & beat that same player HU in the end! It was a most joyful occasion!:D:D:D

If you got time to trash talk you aint playing enough tables!

If you read the OP it is not abut trash talking. I never said I trash talk someones play! I play only 4 tables and don't plan on adding too many more. Playing without chat on can be a mistake even if you yourself don't partake. It's nice to know what others are thinking out loud sometimes.

Just simply if one of these so called experts likes to trash talk my moves then if I notice it I will sometimes set them on tilt even worse.

Like for instance I am SS at a STT and my M is 3. I push almost ATC, get looked up by AK and win. This guy wants to insult my play so I tell him "it was just a coinflip" or "yeah I'm a fish." My chatting is for defensive purposes and only to get the other player to tilt. Never insulting. Looks like I am ignorant(coinflip). Or looks to be sarcastic(Yeah I'm a fish or TY).

So no I'm not the asshole that scares the fish away. I am the asshole that gets slightly better(but not too smart) players to tilt. So please don't accuse me of being that asshole when I am clearly the other type:canabis:

Like the bold part of this. This is enough sometimes to get a person to rant and tilt. TYVM is kind defensive trash talk because if the person has anger issues(which many do) this will make them blow. Even when someone says sarcastically "NH" and you respond with the "TY" that is a mild form of trash talk:).

So I am not all about trashing someones play( I let the poker Gods straighten that out). I'm about getting trash talkers even more pissed than they are. Anyone see where I am going with this?

Ever thought about taking it the other way and being really nice?

If you're nice to fish, they will be less likely to make plays back at you. If you're not nice at the table, they may make spite plays back at you.

I'm terrible about tapping on the glass(from both sides of the tank LOL). And I have been known to be rather ugly at times. But I'm happy to say that I'm working on my problem. Sometimes if I face a bad beat I just try to abstain from commenting all together. When I say something I usually just end up steaming longer anyway....which sometimes spills over to other tables I'm playing at.

Buying into it.

When I first started playing online, this kinda talk would get me on tilt. And I would buy into it. Throwing my whole game off or donking out because I was upset at some one. I would even paticipate in the trash right back at em. Making myself as bad as them. Although I have never been banned from chat at the tables. I do know some playeres have been for supitidty. And that must stink, when they want to rail a buddy. So now i just ignore or mute em if it gets bad. bbbucs

Personally i don't think that taunting another opponent at the table is a good idea. This is because you will have them outside of their normal style of play where you will need to do more guessing about if your hand is better than your opponents. Also they will be more willing to bluff (Raise/Reraise) you and call you down more frequently just out of spite which can create alot of problems with you pulling off a profitable bluff.
For example just compare you shooting a gun to how well you can judge your opponents hand range:
Hitting a target standing still is alot easier then hitting a moving target but if you think you got the skill/finesse to beat them then by all means good luck and go tilt them

Right on

I usually give a good ribbing about where they are from or something like it.
