For those doubting Durrrr

Seems like a lot of people were ripping on Dwan for having a sub-supersick year so far. Well, he's doing just fine now...

Durrrr wins $2 Million in the largest NLHE sessions this year


One of the sickest sessions ever in poker history just finished. The two lead roles were played by Martonas and durrrr. These two players went up and down like nothing we´ve ever seen before. They played about 5000 hands against eachother on the NL tables and in the end it was durrrr who drew the longest straw, he pretty much won every big hand the last couple of hours and Martonas just continued to rebuy on each table.

At one point durrrr was up more than +$2,4 millions on the NL sessions and everyone pretty much counted out Martonas since he was down a SICK amount of -$2,7 millions, but, he continued to play and moved most of his game over to the PLO tables where he did very well against durrrr and his total profit on these tables today was +$987k and durrrr faced a loss of -$668k

durrrr finally left after he told martonas that he had been playing for almost 24 hours straight and needed some sleep. His total profit today is +$1,3 million.

20 buy ins in a 24 hour HU session 4 tabling the most aggro game in the world... no biggie.

wow, that should bring back some money he lost to patrick some time ago. At the aussie cash game invitational where he lost 500k. for some reasone Patrick kept getting monster hands and Durr kept doing those nice folds.

Durr is simply no fluke.

i dont get why he would play for so long. I dont know about you guys, but after 8 hours of playing, i am brain dead and start to play like a donk b/c i cant think straight

I find when I stay up all night and am really tired, I actually play better, I cant get nervous about opponents hands and I play tighter. I make better calls and folds, but I think this is because when im not tired I overthink hands too much and give too much credit to the other player, whereas when im tired I get straightforward thoughts and dont think as much and just play the cards instead of worrying.

One word: action.

When you're playing low stakes there's no end of action. You can log in any time of the day or night and there'll be a bunch of games running that you can join.

When you're playing nosebleeds like Durrrr is though, the games don't run all the time. There might be nothing happening for weeks, so while the games are running the guys who feel they have an edge try to stay in and keep them going as long as they can.

That's why he'd play so long.

Wonder how long it takes for someone to work out who this Martonas actually is?

My guess it's Cique de Soliel founder Guy Laliberte. Seems to have an endless supply of cash.

Its not guy, he doesnt play anymore in any form of poker.


The guy martonas guy is from sweden, thats about all I know.

Yeah, ive seen him play a few times.
Durrr isen't the only one targetting him tho. Even ivey & antonius get into the tabels once he shows up.

I have much respect for martonas, he manages to hold on verry well even with the big loss he made.
The sickest hand was when durr called his all in bet with over a 400k pot with just king high and he actually won.

sick, i dont know how can play so long need to be sleeped all previous day and more to get something like that ) realy many great moves by him saw on FTP tables

Source? First I've heard this, and I just did a bunch of searching. Came up with nothing saying Guy was giving up poker.

Well, that's a far cry from the categorical statement of "he doesn't play anymore in any form of poker." It's more like a gross assumption based on the fact you haven't seen him, but fine, I just thought maybe you had some sort of incident or announcement to point to.

no pretty sure i just PTR him and hes not existant, aka hes doesnt play any poker anymore in past year, any poker, he plays no poker, at all, hardly a far cry.

I don't know if he still plays or not, but the blanket statement wasn't very convincing. He was a regular at Bobby's Room there for awhile. Guy is a very successful and busy CEO and philanthropist with business and charity interests all over the world, so I could see how that could eat into his poker time.

But I don't know, I just thought from the odd comment that maybe there was some gossip to be found about it. Nothing so far.

Guy L. was playing 200/400 NL at Bellagio in June. Confirmed cause a friend of mine had action on another player in the game. I personally dont see Guy ever giving up poker completely. Maybe he has been too busy this year to play online...
