Uh, I don't know how true that is, but they're running satellites into the WSOP Main Event daily on pokerstars. And since they're the biggest online poker site and business around, I'm sure they're pretty reliable.

I don't think you got your information down correctly.

Oh dear god. What are they teaching the kids these days?

And back to your U.S. citizen thing, I'm pretty sure they still allow U.S. citizens to win satellites into the WSOP too, I could be incorrect, but I'm think they allow it.

WSOP Strikes U.S. dot.net Sites

"Dont expect the WSOP to be the circus it was last year. Officials have decided that they can't take advertising from dot.com sites that accept US players nor the dot.net sites affiliated with them. So keep your dot.net stickers at home. with fewer avenues for players to win their seats online, expect the number of entrants in the Main event to go down... way down"

As I recall, the big stink about this was not that online sites couldn't give away entry fees, it was that the WSOP was not going to allow third party online registrations. Basically, if you won your seat at Stars in the past, they would sign you up and pay the fee and you're in. Now, if this actually holds true, they can run the promo and you can win, but they will have to give you the $$ to register yourself or keep it.

You are a smart kid. So listen to this. I've played poker for money for a long time. If you want to play in the WSOP, get there by playing live in card rooms, when you're old enough. Online poker is a sucker play. Dont play online. All these people here who think they are going to make a living online are deluding themselves. The ones who say they already are are lying. If you think about it hard, you will be able to figure out why what I say is true on your own.

Where did you get your facts sir?

I had heard this before, and what I gleened from it was there is a problem with how they did it in the past. But there are so many ways to avoid using the US banking system and /or electronic moving of money from an online site that by WSOP time, it will all be moot.

Without the gazillion bucks online puts into the WSOP, it will become 'just another tournement with a fancy name'.

The only good that might come of it would be for the existing pros, who might actually have a chance then.

For a thirteen year old-I think even though he can't spell, he has a fairly sophisticated sense of what our government is and isn't. I too remember the fall of the Roman Empire. Seems pretty savy for 13.

But alot of the WSOP winners are playing freeroll tournements and winning their seats in freeroll events on FullTilt. Nothin ellegal about that! (And they think they can spoil all our fun)

Yes darling, but this a forum, not your cell phone. I for one would really appreciate as close to proper grammar as possible (internet speak gets on my last nerve :p). Of course it doesn't have to be perfect, but at least try. :)

Correct. This year you may see quite a few people running down the hallway away from the Amazon room as they were just handed their $10K by a PS rep and decided to make a dash for it. But before they'll reach the casino floor they'll have to dodge the temptation of plunking that $10K down in the massage room....the Penn & Teller show....or that cafe with the blueberry muffins. ;)
