My friends and I were bored of playing Holdem, Omaha was too much of a sugar-rush and money was lost too quickly.

In a stroke of genius, we decided to have 3 card Holdem. The rules are such, everyone is dealt 3 cards. However unlike Omaha, we are not restricted to using only 2 cards. We can use 1,2 or 3 whichever makes the best hand. Therefore, one-card straights and flushes are legal.

Also, take note Aces are not the strongest hand anymore. Trip Aces is. But any trips, even trip 2s would be strong enough to shove preflop. Also suited rundowns like KQT of spades are very powerful hands in multiway pots.

What do you think of this hybrid? For us, we will revert to this if we're sick of Holdem or Omaha.

I always like new ideas. Yours sounds a lot like Pineapple with the difference being that after the flop in Pineapple you discard one of your three and the rest is played out like Holdem. Crazy Pineapple is the same but it is played H/L

Too bad this game is not offered anywhere (online). I'd play it all day.

fairly sure that this is called tahoe. its a good game tho all the same.

another you might like is 'called down on the river'

plays exactly the same as hold 'em except after the action on the river, all remaining players get a 3rd down card, and they can use 1,2,or 3 card from their hand.

your nut flush goes to shit in that game ;-)

I remember Paradise Poker offered it back in the day when US players could play there. Not sure if they still do.

The last place I knew of to offer it was Ultimatebet. Hopefully someone will bring it back. I really enjoy it and can only play a PS3 version that i have. Which sucks for the most part but to get my fix I play it.
