This is a how to question for everybody.

When the suckouts or whatever keep coming again and and again. When you know you have played the hand perfectly. And you lose!

How do you keep yourself in check?

How do you keep from tilting and not doing stupid stuff?

I can stay cool on two, three, or maybe even four suckouts, after that, I am to the moon.

This is porbably my biggest money loser, so any help would be appreciated.

Just did it while typing this also, lol.

When you get sucked out on for the 3rd time in a session, quit playing?

Personally I don't generally tilt because of suckouts, they're part of the game. I tilt when I do something stupid in a big pot. You know one of those I'll get him to fold TP spots against a guy who has never folded bottom pair in his life. Those spots piss me off.

I guess I am my own worst enemy also.

Was playing the satelite to the fergoson,(and no I didn't save a hand history).
I had KQ suited utg, raised 3 bb preflop. One caller middle position.

Flop, whole lot of junk, 9 or less and a rainbow.

I raise 2/3's, he calls.

The turn, no help, more junk, raise 2/3s again
He still calls on turn. I looking at board and thinking all he has is a pair of crap. (course I still have nothing)

River comes, no help to anybody in any way. So I push and he calls.
Had the second lowest pair on in board and called all that.

There was no way he got a read the way I played it, he just decided he was going to play it.

And then when I said something after(which I wish I hadn't of), he said my sixes beat you nothing.

YEP, I tilted, lol

I make a peanut butter sandwich.

HaHa  that's a good 1.

Some people I know will say "man, I need a fkn cigarette now!" or "get me a drink". People relieve stress in different ways & obviously those ARE NOT healthy stress relievers but every1 has their own thing. Find something that you can do that's not going to effect you in a negative way.

I, myself, take a deep breath, try not to type something ignorant in the roombox & tell myself "it's ONLY poker, I'm not dying". Because we all know there are worse things than losing in a game, no matter what the game may be.

Applying proper BRM helps in dealing with the suckouts. As long as I've got enough of a roll of cash game or tourney buy-ins to weather the storm and know that long term I'm fine, they don't bother me as much.

They still bother me some. And I may curse a little (if it's online) and for a few minutes feel like poker sucks, but it's not like my blood pressure skyrockets or anything.

But if you're playing a game that you're roll will only allow 15 buy-ins, you're more desperate and feel like you just can't afford a suckout. Or for your pocket kings to run into pocket aces. Because let's face it; you're not always getting sucked out on. Sometimes the other guy has a better hand than you when it seems unlikely and that can feel just as bad as a suckout.

if you don't have icewater in your veins or a granite heart and you feel it is really geting to you , if possible just take a timeout from the game for abit and get some Java,a shot, take a stroll or blaze a bowl and come back when your ready.....if your still in a ongoing tourny and can't walk away I like to imagine the other players all have a duck sitting on their head takeing a squirt on them...LOL....weird I know but it seems to help me forget and move on to the next hand. so if you happen to suckout on me in a tourny ... watch out for the duck!!!!

It's good to vent and get it out. Then I can usually let it go. It happens to everyone. I also look up the players I suckout to on sharkscope and that usually gives me satisfaction to see their negative earnings. LOL.

I used to tilt. How ever as time went on I got used to it.Now I don't tilt at all.I could get sucked out all day .Those are the times when I will just say it is not my day go on the next day.I'm very happy that I don't tilt anymore because .Alot of pros have said I wether give me money to a bad player who does'nt tilt then a great player who tilts. Not saying I'm a bad player.I'm a better player because of it not tilting.I think some people get better and don't tilt the more they play but everybody different.

Lol, I do this sometimes. It sounds sick, but I also get satisfaction seeing the person who just sucked out on me is like $3000 in the hole.

mmm, Im all too familiar with this...but I think the way you handle the suckouts depends on where you are in your life as well. If you have had a bad day then sure youre gonna lose it when you get donked.

If I have had a bad day then I just play freerolls but if I am feeling like tarzan (or more like jane) then I hit the buy-ins.

Sounds crazy but the way I test my "poker day" before laying out cash is by playing a few of the .com and .net freeroll sit and go's on full tilt.

This is a how to question for everybody.

bankroll management and confidence + the experience does help but is not full proof. I'll say I'm less likely to lose it with a suckout nowadays then a year or two back where I did not have BR management.

But when you're a downswing, it does suck. I usually take a break.. Put on some classical on.

very tough to lose consistently against suckouts like this and keep your game straight... atleast for me it is. I'd suggest quitting a session as soon as you start to feel not at your best.
