Hello everybody. Haven't written anything in awhile and figured today would be a good day to start.Honestly I have to say that over the last couple weeks, I haven't been really playing too much poker. After a number of bad beats and early bust outs of tournaments, I decided to take a little break for awhile. I find that when the cards aren't rolling your way it's best to step back and take a breather so to speak. I think that's also why I haven't posted anything. If you're not playing poker, the last thing you want to do is write about poker. But it's a new week and a good chance for a fresh start. So what i want to ask anybody reading this post is, what do you do when the cards aren't going your way? Do you push through and keep playing? Do you take a week or so off like I decided to? Possibly put your fist through the computer monitor? Hopefully not the latter :) Anyways i'd like to know. Good luck out there. Miester646 out.

Similar to you I take a break or play lower limits where I can't screw up my bankroll drastically.

I think it's good to take a break from poker when you're on a downswing and lady luck just isn't on your side. I've been on both sides of the equation where people have told me to just push through it, some say you just gotta play through the variance, but taking a break from poker altogether worked better for me.

We all need breaks from poker once in a while.
If you feel like you need to step back and clear ur mind then do it.
Sometimes its important for the sake of our Bankroll or the love of the game.
Goodluck an I hope the cards get better for u.

A break is always needed for the human brain, relax, loans accumulated other things, being distracted from the game completely, then back again would be super.

Take a break will be right. During this time, calm down, think about, analyze his hands and back into the game.

Usually i keep play til i lose my bankroll. Heavy character... I know that it will be. I'm trying not to be angry, but it does not work.

Stepping away for a bit seems to make great sense to me. My bad beats and suck outs are not life shattering as I play mostly for fun, or small entry games. I have said before that online poker requires a lot of patience and acceptance. I haven't gotten to the point that i have to step away, but it could come for me as well.

I also want to take a break because my game is catastrophic defeat for the win, but purely as bonus pause to wait.

I took a break for six months, moved to lower the limits, the main thing is to play according to your bankroll

Sometimes I push through, sometimes I give myself a break. It can be hour, day or week. But I also had longer break, couple of months and I got back to tables only couple of weeks ago. It wasnt break because of bad beats, I simply lost motivation and interest in poker. But after those months I found new passion for poker and right now I play pretty much daily. Ofcourse only as recreational player, like I was always playing. So If you dont feel comfortable at the tables, or you lack motivation to play, its ok to take a break. It can help you to find motivation again, or just to calm down when variance hurts you. Good Luck.

Its key not to kit down for extended periods of time while playing. Remember to get up and strech, stay hydrated!
