Yes it is hard for me to go to long without a game.
If I go on tilt and start feeling like im running bad,I usually only give myself something like a day or two break.
Maybe do some reading up on some poker books, try to find a new stradegy or something.

When I believe I need to re-think my game,I will definitely take time and read up.Reading up really does improve your game.It sorta revives me,give me some new energy.I totally agree. However I dont believe you need to stop for 2 weeks, maybe 2 days.

Taking a bit of a break can really do wonders for your game. It gives a time to study, review, read, and just think about your game. Plus once you get back to the game you get a renewed vigor for that game, at least I have when I've taken breaks. I hope that once you come back you are stronger then before and ready to jump back into it.

i completely agree with you man...i'm in the process of building my bankroll up with freerolls, so any hit to it at this moment is pretty devastating...these past couple days have just been hell for me, getting horrible breaks - i've almost lost all confidence in my own game, and i don't know what's going wrong.

probably need to do the same thing as you

Hi roids sometimes a break is good for you whether it is enforced or not. I have no doubt you will be back with a better game than before. Good luck catch you soon.

I tend to do the same thing when i start playing poorly. I dont know what I do different when i come back but I usually play pretty strong... Usually break for a week or so before I try and play anything serious

2 week break jesus GL man i did it ithink for two weeks about 5 months ago my relationships were suffering and i kind of use my wife as a barometer when it comes to that sorta thing. I went as far as deleting the software to the sites and all full withdrawal mostly to satisy her and i spose myself to see if i could do it. well i did it and def returned refreshed so i say its a good thing from my experience. I guess poker is like any addiction drugs, eating ect ect u gotta keep a balance very hard tho when something grabs a hold of u like it has with me and many others i am sure.
I guess it's like the old saying" absence makes the heart grow fonder" HA! my answer to that it's not possiblde for my heart to grow any fonder of poker my chest cavity aint that big he he gl on ya break man Peace out Damon789 aka Steamer107

well, i think i'm about to come back from a month long break haha. i do admit the first few days are hard - you constantly think about poker and can't look at a computer right without thinking of firing up stars or ftp. but after a week things seem to sort of calm down a bit and pretty soon you'll forget about it altogether. my break was sort of enforced by busting my bankroll and only now has the desire to start palying agiain slowly crept up

Nothing wrong with a Break when you know it's necessary.
Come back into the game with new energy and a refreshed mind set.

Good Luck

Let us know how you did in the FreeRoll.

I've been on a semi break for about a week. Not by choice though. I was playing terrible prior to the break. It gave me a chance to think about what I was doing wrong. So I came back playing very tight and solid, and I won a couple sng's and finished deep in some mtt's.

I feel and have seen that I do best when I take complete breaks. Meaning, no studying, no books, no forums....total detachment. Then I come back refreshed and clear headed, so I make better decisions and win.

it's hard

I live alone, so it's hard for me to take time off. It's one of my things to pass the time (I'm 63 years old). But if I get on a bad run it seems time off is the only way to get a losing streak to stop.
Just my thoughts,
Take care

trust me, this is definitley for the best. it always helps to clear your mind and come back fresh after a bad performance with anything that you do, not just poker.
