It happens sometimes on pokerstars that during a Tournament and I notice it specially at the start, you are constantly moved to a different table and even sometimes you get moved to a new table, don't even get the chance to play a hand and you are moved once again.

Why this happens?

And also, on Live Tournaments, how this works, would they also constantly move you from one table to another if they need to?

I never understood how PS handles this and the tables distribution.

For example, the other day on a 6-Max with 12 players left, on 1 table they had 1 to 5 and 7 place. And on the 2nd table they had the 6 and 8 to 12. (To me it looks like an uneven distribution) But not idea how it's decided.

Distribution of tables has nothing to do with chip count. I'm sure if you email pokerstars support and ask how table distribution works they will give you a detailed explanation.

this kind of things happen most when u play in a large player pool like with 3k 5k people playing in one tourney...As far as i can think this changing should happen automaticaly And if u are playing at PS they dont change ur table if ur in the middle of the game so dont worry about that they only change to fill up remaining tables.

I noticed that too that sometimes all the big stacks are together and all the small stacks are together.
It makes the bubble last so much longer.

It's probably more noticeable online because online tournaments play faster and knock people out faster but yes, it's the exact same live.

Basically when tables get short on players, they get broken and randomly reassigned to a new table with an open seat. I don't know how they set the order of the tables that gets broken online, but it doesn't really matter. Live, they'll usually do it depending on the layout of the casino (moving from the outside in or similar).

Point is though the table you get sent to is completely random. There's no accounting for the size of the chip stacks, nor should there be.

In a live tournament, they'll normally do something like place a bunch of cards face down on the table. Each card has a new table and seat number on it, and the players take one without knowing what their new table is. Online it'll just be done by RNG.
