I'm not sure this is an issue at most sites, but I play at ACR and twice now a player has been chatting (obnoxiously) in a three-way pot. My understanding was that talking in a pot with more than 2 players is not cool as it may influence the game unfairly. Is that still standard or do online players ignore the old-school ways?

What you are referring to is live poker etiquette (and in some cases rules). These do not apply online, just turn the chat off if you don't like it/are unable to ignore it. But really, what difference does it make...

Ahh...okay. Some online players were saying that many sites block chatting during all-ins, so I wasn't sure what the deal was. Thanks!

If you thought there were rules on the internet, you haven't been to 4chan yet.

People say all sorts of things in the chat box that they shouldn't, just turn it off if you find it annoying.

I know Bovada blocks a chat while a player is all in. In ACR, just click on the statistics tab. No need to see unwanted comments.

On most sites you aren't able to chat once one player has gone all-in (all chat is blocked at that point). WPN network is the only network I've played on that doesn't have this feature.

And as far as others suggesting "Just ignore chat" etc. etc. etc.

If some idiot is saying stuff in the chat which affects how the hand is played (ie. some idiot saying dumb stuff like "Oh wow.. I would've made a boat", "I folded the As !" etc. etc. I would report it!

There are ALOT of rude, ignorant, immature people on the tables in online poker.... many are just extremely stupid. It is unfortunate that the anonymous nature of the internet has them behaving at their finest.

I'm sure you have heard of the term liquid-courage. Well people get internet-courage.

For the most part people will say almost anything that they wouldn't dare do in front of a live person.

It is ONLY 1 player per hand & the ONLY players that are allowed to talk about the current hand are the people involved & that is ONLY if it's heads-up. If it is a multi-way pot then everyone should shut up.

At casino I play at there is ABSOLUTELY no speculation even if it's heads-up.

Generally the rule is if not heads-up then everyone should shut up & then if heads-up ONLY those 2 participants are allowed to say anything.

If I were you I would take down the players name & the hand number & the table & the time of the hand & report it to support. I would also go to ACR's twitter address & post it online so the whole world can see what their response will be.

Unfortunately if U only do it through support via e-mail they have a standard reply & the issue isn't resolved. That is why it's best to go through twitter to get a "real" answer instead of something scripted.

Where did OP mention anything about the chat being obnoxious...

seems most of the responses in this thread have done a great job at ignoring OP`s chat in this thread... sigh

Some sites do block chat when a player is all-in. ACR does not, I don't think.

Talking at the table is an epidemic these days. I can't stand it when I'm live and bet and then the guy I'm in the hand with starts asking me questions. Like I'm really going to tell him what I have?
