re: Poker & Superstitious?
I am superstitious in some ways, I have a "lucky" shirt that I wear every Sunday so that the Cowboys will win, obviously it doesn't work or they would be undefeated every year, but I still wear it. I used to have a different lucky shirt that I wore out to the clubs because I scored a few times in it, so I figured it was the shirt and not my "dazzling" personality. Then a few habits I have is before I go into a trial and every day of the trial I watch a scene from My Cousin Vinny that pertains to that part of the proceedings (my fav is the opening statement when Vinny simply stands up and says "Everything that guy just said was bullsh**...I WISH I had the balls to do that just once..maybe on the day I retire..ha). Before a live game I have a laminated odds
chart with starting hands on one side and odds on the other that I read over. Do these things help? Probably not, but I think that anything that makes you more confident has some benefit.
