re: Poker & Styrofoam's May2006-May2007 challenge
pokerbrat, all these posts show that it is possible to build a bankroll from nothing or nearly nothing. We all have our ups and downs, but if you're careful about the stakes you play at, and make sure that you play a solid game, then you should be able to on average keep building it up.
My challenge is to build up my bankroll to at least $1000 or so, having cashed out all the money I've put into poker so far. Currently I'm at about $125, but I'm mainly playing 1c/2c stakes PLO8 while I'm getting better at that format - the other challenge at the same time is to get comfortable (read profitable) at most of variants of poker... I'd recommend starting off at the micro limits - if you can't beat them then you probably don't want to be playing at the higher stakes yet, and if you can then you can use them to build up a bankroll for the higher stakes... it's an interesting challenge, and one that minimises risk and forces you to take a sensible, steady approach, rather than just jumping in at the deep end.
