I have a question. It seems stupid til you think about it.

A friend of mine played a 7 card stud tournament at Poker Host and noticed something.

7 cards per player.

8 players at the table.

= 56 cards if everyone stays in til seventh street.

I know its rare, but has anyone seen what would happen when the 7th card is dealt?

They put 1 card in the middle for everyone to use, never seen it.

I have seen this before...

Yes, one card is put in the middle for everyone to use as their river card, at first I had no idea why there was 1 card in the middle of the table after the river, but I later realized why...

Yeah, I just got that answer from their help desk.... this seems like a major bending of the rules, wouldnt it make more sense to make them 7 player tables???

Not really worth it seeing as even in the most fish infested low limit games you're hardly ever gonna get all 8 people at a table seeing the river.

It's not a "bending of the rules" anyway btw, it's a universal rule as far as I know. :)

Happened to me on UB. Kind of freaked me out but my hand was already made so it didn't hurt me. They should limit them to 7 max though...

Right, thats my point... that all poker sites should limit their stud tables to 7 people so that the rules are consistant throughout the tournament or ring game, whichever it is. Its rare, but why have a big swing in strategy or game play with a community card?
