sent this to poker stars earlier

so basically I have planned to start a youtube diary of my life, whilst this will be about general stuff and not specifically poker, it will of course mention poker and my targets etc. I wanted to check i didn't break an rules before i do so such as i assume its ok to film poker sessions on your site? if not please let me know.

if so when i do exhibit such things on youtube do i need to blot out player names as you may have concerns regarding hand sharing although the sample size would never be big enough toi make that useful.

if so does the same apply to poker tracker and or similar software for player names?

if so do i need to block out tournament number id? or table id etc?

specifically i am targeting the hyper turbos i decided to start at the very bottom to learn as i go instead of taking big hits yours is not the only site i play on and i am technically rolled for the 7s and nearly the 15s but you know.

anyway i have researched a few players to gather what is realistic and isn't to achieve from these etc. one of your team pokerstars has stood out through this am i allowed to mention him in youtube videos,

if so would i be allowed to show mention hands ive observed from him and my thoughts on these im pretty sure he has more clue then i do but i don't get some of his plays etc.

i have yet to post anything on youtube or film any sessions I wanted to check the rules regarding this before I do so.

I would probably block out my name so i guess i should others too.

got this as a reply

Hello David,

Thank you for your email. Your email was escalated to me as a member of the PokerStars Game Integrity Team.

Before I answer your question, I just wanted to mention a few things that you may or may not be aware of.

PokerStars does not permit players to play on accounts other than their own - even for recording training videos. We also encourage you to upload your videos with a delay or after the session is completed, rather than streaming live to ensure others can't use information such as your hole cards to cheat against you. If something like that were to happen, you would of course be responsible for any losses or damage done.

As for your question, it is not necessary to cover up information in the video such as your User ID, the User IDs of other players, hand or tournament #s, etc. For your own security, I would recommend that you cover up anything that you might consider sensitive, which could include your User ID, but this is your choice.

Whatever you choose, if you want to obscure your User ID, then you probably should also obscure the User ID of the other players, and also the hand history numbers (which appear both in the top of the window, but can also appear in the chat box).

Obviously, we can't guarantee that any individual such solutions will work, so I encourage you to look into this and determine what works best for you. However, here are some options you can consider for obscuring such information:

a) If you use Hold'em Manager or Poker Tracker, you might be able to use the various statistics boxes to cover up the player's names and/or hand history numbers.

b) Find a program which you can set to be 'always on top' to cover the relevant parts of the table.

c) There is software which can be used to pixelate/block out a particular area of film. Here is one web tutorial on how to do this:
http://www.mediacollege.com/video/special-effects/blur/

d) It looks like Windows Movie Maker - which comes with XP and Vista - can do this itself. If you're using Camtasia or Camstudio (the most common video-making software for training videos) then I think you'll find that they also have similar functions.

I trust that this has been helpful to you, but please feel free to contact us again any time if we can help you further.

Regards,

Justin

firstly they mention not allowed to use other accounts I guess I did ask the rules to make sue I wasn't breaking any but I never mentioned the idea of using multiple accounts, and have never used another account, the only time someone accessed my account was when my brother did so without my consent to change my avatar to a logo calling my friend an idiot, because he thought my friend was bad at poker.

I emailed poker stars at the time told them what happened and asked them for help removing the avy so they knew about it. and whilst they suggested I take more care in the future I didn't get penalised.

so why would they specifically mention this am I suspected of it has it been much of an issue recently?
