I've played around 150k hands of poker this year, and i'm noticing more and more winrates are bullshit, at the end of one month i'll feel like a cash game beast, the next I'll feel like a marginal winner in around 2 years i've played 800k hands and my play style has changed drasticaly from, the beggining to end,

some months i'm more foucsed so my avg bb/100 might be 6, then next month or just a weeks worth of me playing lik shit, or having extra stress outside of poker affects me so i might go down to a 2bb/100 thus making sites like
http://www.evplusplus.com/poker_tools/variance_simulator/

innacurate and in over 100k hands i change a play here and there so its not consitant with my last 100k hands, therefore not being my true winrate, basically the idea of a stable this is my winrate seems laughable since we all have good and bad months due to personal stresses, and outside factors, soemtimes inside if your not table selecting that well for a month.

this thread has been made of of just pure confusion to be honest, i thought by now i could say 'yes this is my winrate' but with changes here and there and everything above it still isnt right.

what do you all mainly look for if you subscribe to the theory of LOL winrates - what do you go on?

Move this to cash thread? While winrates are a factor in tourney play, the concept is much more important to cash players.

You have opened a can of worms here.

Win rates are very, very hard to ascertain when it comes to cash games. Even though you have a decent sample of 800k hands you really won't have a good idea of your "true winrate" until somewhere in the 1.5-2m range at least. I wouldn't really worry about your winrate fluctuating so much (the whole 6bb then 2bb) as that's just variance at play. The main thing is just being able to keep tilt in check.

Myself personally I don't put too much stock into my winrate and I'm more concerned with having a decent blue and red line in PT3.

*edit* I put far more stock into ROI for tournies than I do winrates for cash

Even if your game stayed the same everyone else's game will change and effect your winrate. The only thing you can really know is if you can be a winner in the game right now and even that's hard to say sometimes if you're in the middle of running into the top of everyone's range.

I think it was AE Jones who said that winrates don't exist because the games are always in flux. This is probably true to a certain extent. I wouldn't focus on your winrate too much. Just focus on making money. I mean a lot of people choose to mass multi-table for instance to do just that. Their winrate is far worse than if they were 2 tabling for instance but they make more money per hour with rakeback and just the volume of hands.
