Hi ,
I've read this article about starting hands + position at
http://www.pokerschool.com/node/97 (scroll down till "Choice of starting hands" ).

I was wondering , do most of you really usually play like that (expect when you are sure you are better then the opponent and he push it...) ?

The chart seems ok, but i would probably only play this way in a large field MTT at a full table with an average chip stack. If i am playing a turbo re-buy tourny or at a shorthanded ring table or if i have a large stack then i may play more marginal hands.

I plaay allot of hands and try to mix up alllot. But i always play hands with some potential (connectors, suited cards, etc..). If i'm sitting at a weak table i might try to get myself into pots with complete rags, IF i think i have an edge on the other players.

Anyways i think its good to mix up the starting hands, and sometimes change the position you play them (take a shot with 67s UTG for exampel)

I'd say if you are new to the game it is best to play by the book. As you learn more about the game you will feel more free to loosen your game as betting and position become an essential part of poker. (and knowing when to fold, [What I'm working on!])
