Would you ever stake some one that you only knew for a little while? I was at a casino and become good friends with a guy sitting next to me and after a while, he asked if I would stake him, he said he comes to the same casino regularly, he said he would add me to his Facebook and he would give his cell number and a bunch of other things.

At first I did not know what to say and then I nicely said I don't have enough money to stake him, he was pretty cool with it and said it's ok.

How do you handle a situation like this?

Its really weird for someone to ask you that anyway, I'm more interested in staking myself.

I can not believe you gave attention to it, it really does not exist in my view and I bet on me or you do not bet. Not that it is in a professional poker, I'd rather trust my abilities than in his.

To a stranger you've just met no. But a family member/friend I've known for atleast 1-5 years then yes.

I spend the same and never refunded me the money, the difference that looked regularly at the casino, as also once they lent me and returned it,

but in your case , I would not,
simply tell him that I do not know you

I may not stake in this situation.
1st, you don't know if he is a winning player or not.
the logic is like this

if he is a wining player and come to casino regularly, he should keep a very good bankroll management, so he is not lacking of funds.

and if he is a winning player, and not lacking of funds why he needs to take a part of win/profit to others who he did not know?

therefore the situation is he is not a winning player...
this stake is not a positive expectation...therefore I may not...
he may be in a up swing some times but you still win.

the 2nd thing, is if your funds are secured and able to keep a track on the win, and get your profit and investment back?

BTW: if this stake happens on buyin a big buyin tournament, I may reconsider his ability , style ,etc. to make the decision.
