Somebody just offered me a stake and said
"65% of the action to him with 0 make up?"

What does that mean?

No. 65% to him means he gets 65% you keep 35%. No makeup means that if you lose you never own him anything even if he would restake you.

Ok that's what I figured but when would I pay him that 65%? I guess that's just something he decides?

Usually you'd agree to play for a set amount of hands with profits being split on a schedule (say every 2 weeks or w/e).

These days, 65% without MakeUp is a reasonable proposition. Of course, these deals depend on what you are playing. Many Zero make up deals are up to 80% cut to staker.

MakeUp only applies when you lose money on a stake....When the same person restakes you (if he does), you must repay the "MakeUp" from the profits in the new stake, before you get your percentage cut.

Good Luck....staking is an excellent way to play higher limits than you can afford, without adversely affecting your bankroll.

Where would one go about finding someone to stake them? I've always been curious about stakes but never really vested much time into more info about it.

Yeah, staking is really available for just about anyone, even new players. Of course, the less experience you have (and worse stats), the lower you have to start in order to build up a record and gain trust.

please remember that after said amount of hands, if it is decided to extend the stake, you can renegotiate the terms. Stake % is geared toward risk factor, among other things.

I typically have had my stakes send me $ once a month. If it's going well obv. As you move to higher limits, it can be as frequent as once a week.

65/35 for a short term stake w/o MU is not bad deal in your circumstance. Gives you a decent starting roll (I'd assume) w/ a chance to come out on your own in the near future.

How long is stake planned for if I may ask?

Just a note: If you agree to a MakeUp Staking deal, you can generally get terms at or close to 50/50 split

Not really unless it really fits your needs. For several reasons there are better places to start, unless your bankroll is absolutely zero and even then a smaller site can get you the 1.10 SNG/MTT you can get there, unless you are more experienced.
