Well, I have a rudimentary spreadsheet that I use to keep track of my winnings. I could've tracked more info but if opted to do that, the info wouldn't have fit in one screen so I just included the main stuff that I had interest in. I'm hoping to get a tracking program sooner rather than later but until then, this is my main mode of tracking my winnings. I also justify things by remembering that there are no tracking programs to rely on during live play
I pared down this spreadsheet to keep some of my info private, but somewhat shamelessly began with my ccop win
. Of course this is a tedious way of keeping track, so one of the issues is that the more you play, the more you'll have to scroll down and shift through when reviewing. The color coding scheme I adopted was blue for profit, red for loss, and then black for freerolls (if I don't cash in the freeroll, it stays black, if I win, it's blue). I use a calculation function so that whatever amount you enter for "amount won", the balance adjusts accordingly.
I hid the ring game details but I still use the same format as tourneys. Basically, I just put a bar in the box for sections that don't apply (e.g., payout structure, finish, etc). I wiped out the section on notes too, but basically, after my session, I just write some thoughts down - this ranges widely from memorable hands, my overall impression of how I played, to thoughts on what I need to work on (e.g., lost $ money from blinds, don't overplay hands out of position, etc), to cursing out my opponents.
Last section at the bottom details my bankroll management rules, which I believe are the same as the Ferguson Challenge since I began from 0 as well. I found out that having this info visible doesn't always translate into following these rules as I've made a few exceptions, but hasn't been an issue of late.
If people are interested, I can create a blank template that you guys can work off of, but I may not be able to send one out immediately. Let me know if something doesn't make sense.
