The biggest difference for me between live and online is the witty banter. Most players do not chat and even if they do it does not come close to real table talk. I've watched Jamie Gold literally talk people out of (or into) calling. On PS they even disallow chat when some one is all in. I would like to talk to the other players (in English) Any sites allow verbal communication like the gamers have?

I always thought the chat mute when a player is all-in was BS too.

What is the point of it?

I hate it absolutely hate it! Honestly sometimes I use the chat to help talk myself a hand, even if I don't intend on actually sending it. I like the chat box there to help talk me through a hand sometimes. Hate sites that block it when someone is all in, but I understand why it is done.

u cant tell the truth about your own hand. that's a bs rule eh.

anyway, i guess they disabled chat when a guy's all in on the major sites, (PS & FTP), cos they had too many issues with other people at the table spillin their hands. 'i had an ace, if u have AK, dont call'. or when it's all in on the flop, 5 5 2, some jackass saying 'i folded a 5, he's bluffing call that donk'.

The funny thing about that is that Jamie has changed a lot since then: he doesn't go over-the-top in talking as much as he did during his WSOP win. Part of the reason is that he looked extremely arrogant.....on every TV in America. :D

Jamie has calmed down...but nothing compared to Havad Kahn who acts like he has been medicated.

I guess my biggest complaint about live poker is the amount of poker being played. I sit at my computor and play 3 to 4 tables/tourneys at once. I don't have to wait for the dealer to shuffle and deal. I just seem to get bored in a live game. Of course thats just me

Your right about when players do chat it not being close to table talk. Half of the time someone is just acting inmature and saying stupid things
