Hello everyone. This is my first post and I am sharing some things that I have always had in mind when I play poker

I always do this when I am tilted:

You need to breathe, to oxygenate the body and the sympathetic system stops. This will help you not to be reactive. Two or three times or until you feel comfortable.

You need motivation: You need to believe in yourself, you have to tell yourself credible phrases. Say it out loud, it will have more impact.

I always this keep in mind:

Poker is not luck: There is something called "variance" and this applies to all games. Every poker player knows when the time is and when not.

Analyze each player: In live poker many people do not take the time to observe the behavior of the players. They only lend to their chips. Focus on them, they will give you their chips if you get them to make mistakes.

Listen to music while playing: This does not apply to all players, just in case you feel comfortable, do it.

Keep an agenda: Poker is difficult and requires continuous study. That's why you need to record the events every time you play poker. Help you

Stop playing that day: There are storm days, where they do not give you "good hands", or you do not feel comfortable playing for any reason. Please, if you do not want to foolishly lose your money, never play drunk or thinking about a task you did not do. You must play with a clear mind.

P.D Close the session, variance plays us many times and we must be aware of the risks of playing with tilt

If you get it, celebrate it.

Well, once you have lost several major games on multiple sites within a short span of time on "one outers" you begin to think the universe is conspiring against you. Since the results may seem like something from a bingo or lottery I go play online slots and play within an actual lottery. I have sometimes recouped my losses many times over and other times just play enough to win a few times (even if I lose overall) to come back to my senses then I go back to poker and play according to table conditions with a cooler head.

When I'm tilted I usually try to not play next few hands - i usually try to occupy my mind by web browsing on the phone or start a conversation if it is a live game. Only, if i get some really strong hands like AA, KK, QQ, JJ or AK i try to focus and play them, but i think the best option, atleast for me, is to just skip and fold few next hands cause it usually leads me to loosing almost all of my stack.

I will try to develop some breathing technique as you mentioned in your post. It looks reasonable, why not give it a shot :)

I happened to have a real nice BADBEAT 2 months ago. None of my cards showed up and all chips I won were by bluffing or betting some newbies out. Then I had to travel a month and stayed in a hotel. As I wasn't in the mood and didn't have time to focus on poker, I just played some bingo freerolls and this time I was the donking clown. Guess what, I made some final tables with 45s and even T9o I shoved all in and won sooo many times. I call it universe's justice, because trying to find a system behind these 'one-outers' would smash my brain.
But back to the theme: after this month of donking around, I'm at home now for a week, played my (almost) full schedule and won 50 bucks + in freerolls and 10c SnG's.
So taking a break and laughing about it helps a lot to get you out of a deep depressive stage in your poker carreer. just give it a break, even schoolkids get holidays, and every other worker as well.

Hello.
Thanks for the interesting tips. But I have my own effective method. The best thing to help me is a short break. And I almost never listen to music during the game.

Hi.
I agree, music also always helps me. When during the game I listen to music I'm more focused on the game.
Good luck.
