Hello guys, I like posting my questions here in cardschat because I always have a good feedback and honest replies.

I've playing online poker bye a little more than 1 year, I'm playing at micro limits for now, but I already have a consistent money gain even at those limits, since the currently money of my country is devalued if compared to dolar or euro (ofc I'm still learning how to handle with variance, how to get better etc) but so far I can pay some beers and help my family with some bills with the money I get playing, the variance is the hardest thing but thats not the point right now.

I never played live poker before, but I'm speculating about start playing. Ofc I dont have outstanding skills and I'm far away from this, but I'm not totally donkey, I know what I'm doing and which kind of moves represents value.

So I'd like from you more experienced guys, how is the level of live poker players, theres lot of fishes and ocasional players at casinos or its full of regulars ? And how are their skills if compared to good micro limits players ? I mean I can play lots of hands per hour so I think I have more experience in 1 year than I could have if playing live, since online I can play lots of tables at once... What you think ? Worth a try ?

Thank you all for now.

I think it's good to start playing live to gain experience, but watch your bank , and you will find many people with much more bank than yours, and risked many more hands than you, and it can play you a dirty trick.

I advise you start with live tournaments

sorry for my english

You'll definitely find differences in live poker. The question is if you'll even like it after you try it out. You should just relax for the first time and not take it too seriously. Don't overthink things too, it'll only get you confused. Good luck

I first learned by playing the game myself (live) at a casino. It was a lot of different and I used it as a learning experience for bankroll management and how loosely the players played. (I believe they were regulars).

But imo, Live poker is so much fun compared to online.

Tip: Relax and don't be too worried. I went in with $100 with a mindset of "it's a casino, I'm really certain that I'm going to lose my money" and I played for about an hour and I didn't lose to a bad beat but I lost to a good hand. (My pocket queens vs pocket kings; we both flopped full houses on the Turn)

Certainly worth a try. Acquire a new experience. Perhaps you will like more. But there should be more than watch the opponents - they do, how they behave, what they say.

try a new experience. But be prepared for the fact that gets little pleasure and a lot of nerves

Depends entirely on the player pool at your local casino - and also when you play there. In some places you'll often find that if you go play on a weekday you'll just be playing against decent regs, but if you go on a Friday or Saturday night there'll be heaps of casual players just looking to give their money away.

The GENERAL rule though is that at the same stakes, live poker is a lot softer than online. $1/$2 live generally plays like $5NL online for example.

its easy to spot the regulars before the tourney just watch for how the pit boss treats them if they use names and starts a conversation,etc.... and take note of what you do when u get a good hand when u play online ie light a smoke take a drink... then dont do that there. u have to take good mental notes of the players at your table and you should be gold.... just my limited tourney stratagy

live poker is softer...but I would say the rake is too heavy.

in my location, NL200 live...normal rake is 6 bux see flop, + rake+ river fee 1usd if see river...

online...NL200 is 3 dollars cap.....

but I think my wining Bigblinds/100 hands live is much better than live....but I still like play online, cos, no multi-tabling, slow pace...

so for your question, live is softer in general unless table full of sharks.
