So why is your favourite starting hand not AA ???

I see on some profiles that AA is not their favourite starting hand...

For me it <and probably most people> it is by far the biggest winning hand, and to me that is essentially Poker...win more chips or cash than everybody else... I see AA and I jump for joy !

Just curious why some people say anything less than AA KK as their favourite hand ?

I saw somebody say JT was their favourite hand ? That's a losing hand for me, Curious as to why anybody would rather see that more than AA

I´ve never saw anyone saying that JT would be better that AA as starting hand ... actually makes no sens .... don´t believe everything you read

9..2.. it cannot lose if played correctly..Its actually my favorite cause its my bluff hand and playing 9 2 correctly means you fold it..cant loose that way...

You sir might want to have a look at some poker books (starting with any of them)

7 5 suited. I know that is a little weird but ive made most money playing these kind of hands. But it requires a lot of pot control, and beeing able to bluff even concider fold if you hit flopp a flush and you end up playing all the way to the river. Your flush will probably not be good enough anymore. GLHF:icon_sant

I have started trying some different hands in the right position. I think when you can get into the pot limping or a small raise, some hands could be mean as hell when you hit. So the hand I like the best is 67 suited. I have hit a lot of hands with them. But I don't care if it's only cost a penny to call, I'm not playing trash.

AA is and will remain my favorite hand because it's the best hand in poker.No matter that it happens to lose with AA.Still the best hand will remain.

obv all players know AA is the best hand in every position and is a favorite hand.

I think AA an optimal hand no doubt, however, my favorite hand is AK same suit , think a little more " suggestive" hand ..

With AA you got 80% and KK you got 75% chances of winning.The percentages of other hand are obviously lower,so it doest make sense if people say you got lower chances of winning with AA or KK.

That is strange? AA is on my profile, as my best hand to start. That's because it is!

Now if was a hand I play, because i just like it. That would be 7,4. And I don't know why.

I dont even have any favorite hand. YOu can loose or win with anything and every hand is different. Picking your favorite hand can lead you to eventual problems when you will play some (favorite) hands the way you shouldnt or so, just because its your favorite...

aAA KK QQ is a very good hand , but what discourages is out with JJ , many think that with them will go away but for me they are not of much future

AA is definitely not my favorite starting hand. Like so many others I like to see them but since I so rarely win with them my like slowly drools down to an ugh. lol
My favorite is A/10 suited. Don't ask me why cause I really have no clue other than it just is. lol

J10 suited is not better than AA, but if we're talking about favorite hands, then it doesn't necessarily mean the 'best' starting hand.

Maybe J10s is their favorite hand because it's won them the most money. Maybe it's their favorite hand that can potentially win a ton of money when it hits, but they can easily fold when they miss. AA is the best starting hand, but it can definitely be hard to let go when you're beat.

My personal favorite hand is J4s, not because it's a great hand or anything, but because I was playing at a home game with friends, another player and I decided to gamble for one NLHE hand dealt face up. We both put in $100, I was dealt J4s and he was dealt Q9. So he had a slight edge until I flopped 44J and won. It was fun and ever since then, whenever I get J4s, I play it and see what happens.

I think that you start hand is doesn't matter. There is can be flop where AA will be the worth hand than 2-7offsuit. Exept all, if you have favorite hand it's can make you a bad favour. When you play favorite hand and no consider all situation on the table you can lose big bank.

People aren't robots man. Some people Like JT suited because they like to flop crazy combo draws. Who doesn't? It's a good feeling to know you have J high and your going to hit like 65% of the time. Also, if everyone was always just going to say "aces" to that question, why would we even ask it?

AA can you lead you into a false sense of security. haha last night was a great example i had AA another had KK 10 Q etc etc they went all in what was i to do? fold? lol K hit the flop and i was knocked out early ^_^

because people think it's so good that it can't be beaten, their heart races more when they have aces, and thus they remember the times when it gets outdrawn and beaten. Whereas when you win with a hand like T8s and you win a big pot, you remember the good in that hand more than the thousands of other times it lets you down.

truth is we all love stacking aces with suited one gappers and random crap. But at the end of the day AA is always the preflop nuts.

I don't have a favourite starting hand, but I do win more pots and money with AA than any other starter, it will win 80% of the time HU against 1 opponent, and even 60% of the time against 3 opponents who couldn't like it, clearly the best hand, it is easy to play you know exactly where you stand, but perhaps people get more fun and excitement from playing some drawing hands.

AA is definitely my favourite hand to beat its a great feeling when you are so low in a tournament you have to push all-in loose, your opponent calls showing AA your J9 gapper holds up to put you back in contention.
