Hey guys, me again. I posted a topic not too long ago when I finished 9th out of 9000 on Hubble pokerstars freeroll. Won a few easy tickets on Full Tilt.

Last night was so sick although it is all down to stupid plays by myself. In hindsight I threw it away. I was playing the Daily 90 Grand Freeroll on Stars, with 40,000 entrants. I know a lot are donks etc, but anyway I finished 82nd and 60 got paid. Spent so much time playing the damn thing and playing well only to come so close to starting a bankroll. =[

First of all I am confused by your first sentence. How did you win a few tickets on FullTilt through the Pokerstars freeroll? And if it wasn't through that then what does that have to do with the rest of your post because the whole thing you're talking about Pokerstars tourneys.

To get back to your post, it comes down to that you're playing the wrong tournaments. You can't play a tournament with 40,000 people in it that only pays the top 60, that is a payout structure that only pays out 1.5% of the players, which is absolutely terrible unless it's a satellite. If you're able to place fairly high in these tourneys, you should be playing ones that give realistic expectations with a good payout structure relative to the number of entrants.

What he said.

Although I do feel your pain OP, hang in there...if you have a job you could perhaps just deposit some monies into your account and have a bankroll that way? :D

It's the daily 90k freeroll. Top 7 get into the daily 90k and 8-60 get $5.50. Terrible FR if you ask me...

I seldom play on pokerstars for the very same reason. I did give that place a visit, back when I won about 8 of those tickets for coming in the top 27 so many times about 3 years ago. But now I go to other pokersites, for more generous and easier methods of adding to the bankroll. There was a nice FTR added tourney on pokerstars tonite, but I had three other decent tourneys that started at the same time on other pokersites. Good luck on increasing the bankroll.

And as for as missing being ITM by placing 82nd instead of 60. Oh, that can turn a stomach, gut-wrenching. I just say am I worth more? and start chasing tourneys that have a 10% payout, a 15% payout and even tourneys that pay 20% percent of the entrants. I was bummed after playing 3 hours on fulltilt, tonight. 800 players, 80 get paid. I came in 88th. So , so frustrating. When you say what happened to you tonight, I feel better already.
