I was just wondering for some of the more successful players. What is your general rule for sng and mtt buy in amounts as related to the size of your bankroll? Lets say I am starting with a $200 br and want to play nothing but sng's and MTT's. What levels should I start at? When should I move up? Your input is appreciated.

Really just play what you wish but just don't play to many. Playing to many your ROI will go way down and profits will decrease . Id say play any $5/$10 game you would like and try to satellite into anything over that. But i play live soo not the best advice but should help you

Usually requires a more serious bankroll. Not that you couldn't enter a MTT or SNG and win first prize on your first effort. I personally like 30 - 50 - 100 dollar SNG's. If things are going well I wouldn't hesitate to jump into 200.00 SNG's. For tourneys I like playing the big purse one's which are a little expensive to play. I'll usually give satellite tourneys like double shoot outs to get into the million on Sunday maybe 6 attempts. If not successful I'll stop there and just buy in. But usually win the seat or get to second table most of the time which will usually at least give you your money back with 2x's the buy in for profit. I like to play 50k guarantee tourneys and up. Always check out the smaller guarantee tourneys looking for small fields, which happens once in awhile with nice overlays.

I was much more aggressive when there were no problems playing online for U.S. players, and always kept a serious bankroll in most of the popular poker rooms. But, became much more conservative, considering the options of where we can play and the complications of moving money around, since the new law. I presently only have cash in two rooms bodog, and stars. If I run out, which seems to be happening allot lately, I deposit in $1,000.00 increments only.

The levels you should play at should be whats comfortable for you. With a 200.00 bankroll you certainly don't want to jump into a 200.00 SNG biting your nails through the whole game.

With 200.00 try some cheap satellites. Probably best to concentrate around 20.00 and 30.00 SNG's. Hopefully you hit the board or win a few and build up. If things don't go to well you won't last to long with 200.00.

Whatever you do wish you good luck.
