Hey CC,
Playing a 10+1 entry with an 8k grntd prize pool, still 50 min left to late register and there are already 515 players. What is the best strategy for early in these events with a large amount of players. (I know its not relative to 15k people MTTs at stars and full tilt but still a large field). thanks

3000 starting stack and 12 min levels

Play tight early for the first few levels then flip it and get aggressive around the 50/100 level.

This.

Also takes perceived flips at every chance you get as tourney goes on as well. All money locked up at top so don't piss about trying to min cash.

i played few mtt tours on partypoker and my strategy payed off and it is, play tight whole game especially when blind lvl goes up every 15 min...so u have time to w8 good cards... :)

So just play tight and smart, dont go till end even if u have AA KK, fold it if flop dont looks so good :)

Won't this cause Ante out. Once in an MTT I was on the bubble to reach the payout. which was the top 26 and there were 28 left out of 250. Someone went all in pre flop and I folded KK. Didn't want to risk not making it in the money. Got into the money but then I regretted folding KK.

Just standard ABC poker I guess in these buy-ins..at lower blind levels will be enough. You will get it in good playing like that, then later on take some flips, don't be scared of bubbling or busting. As someone already said, money is up top..a min cash is just a waste of your time and you may as well just of done a DON ;)
