I just read the poker etiquette rules/ suggestions, am having trouble knowing what slow rolling is? Is it thinking too long?,you have a good hand but you take your time so they might not guess you have a good hand? Can someone clarify it for me please

Slow rolling is hesitating at the showdown in live poker. Its rude in that its like rubbing it in.

Slow playing or playing slow are usually ok. Excessive foot dragging is also frowned upon.

Come-on Let's GO!!!

do not confuse slow rolling with slow playing

slow rolling - this is done in a live card room only, not online. it is when the action goes to a showdown, one player turns his cards and may have a moderate hand - the other waits for a period of time, all the while knowing they have the other player beat, before they turn their hand over, letting the other person think they may have won and then pull the rug out from under them. this is a terrible thing to do, and as a poker room manager I have had to stop fights because of it. I think it is a weak and very bush-league thing to do

slow-play = playing a strong hand as though it is very weak, and then making a big bet or an AI call on the river. many think you need a very strong hand to do this, I do not, especially in cash games. I will slow play top and second pair in a weaker cash game.

hope this helps

Slowplay in my expirience it's bad idea, especially on mtt when bubble phase that's be a huge mistake, really, cause you can fall in difficult situations, and probably you must do tough decisions.

Sometimes slow play annoying, but in poker you have to be level-headed and cold-blooded

At the limits that I play (2nl, 5nl) sometimes slow play not (slow rolling) is a necessity, especially when playing PLO H/L. At many tables it is limp, limp, limp, raise, fold, fold, fold. This makes it almost impossible to value bet.

Playing slow... running the clock.
Slow Play... not being overly aggressive with a strong hand; not giving away the strength and trying to extract max value from a monster. This can be dangerous as you can allow your opponent to catch up and beat you!
Slow Roll... having the nuts at showdown and dragging the time out before revealing your cards! Very poor etiquette and not recommended.

When playing multi-table tournaments for delay allows time to enter the top places and this is normal behavior. Because poker - a strategy

I can see now why slow rolling is offensive ty. Yes I can see how it is different from slow playing...I like to do a pot size bet at the river when I am pretty sure I have the nuts and wondered if I was slow rolling doing that... not to give away any tells lol

slow rolling only happens live, its when someone takes time to show his cards when the are the best hand, slow play you can and should do that vs not very good temperate players

You can slow roll online too, if you are faced with calling some ones all in and you are sitting there with the nuts and let your timer tick all the way down before calling

I sometimes pull up to the last time when a table by a man not mentally healthy. He begins to bet all-in every hand. Lost the beauty of the game of poker. In such cases, the entire table is united against such a player and eventually he loses

what's the point of slow playing being a bad thing. You have a huge aggressive oppononent, You've hit the 4 of a kind at the flop. The guys is big raising. Why would I shove and scare him instead of making he think he has the lead?

Slow play annoying, I agree. But when a man always goes all-in, the game is not called. It only remains to wait for a strong hand and knock out a player.

Sometimes playing slow slow thinking and acting with confidence, you can make your opponent bluff upon your monster game. Just be studies on the player who is in the hand with you.
