If they have bluffs more than value in a spot just assume they're always bluffing; it'll be long-run profitable.
Well, say villain raises from the Hijack and you have A6s, you call from the button. Flop comes down 569 two-tone, and villain cbets half-pot. Villain is pretty tricky and when he bets half-pot in a low drawy board like that, he's gonna have air a fair amount of the time. Because he bet half-pot he's giving you 3:1 odds to call, so you only need him to be bluffing roughly 1/4 of the time to call. So, if you think he's bluffing more frequently than that, you call.can you explain this with an example? i dont quite follow
If they're good it could mean a zillion things. They might be deciding exactly how much to bet, whether to call or raise, what the hell you could be doing what you just did with, etc.time tells are big online....when people take time sometimes its because they don't know what to do....
Also they can be hollywooding, and sometimes a snap-raise is pretty indicative of a bluff, because an actual value hand would at least consider calling that spot.
hi guys I think this is my 18 post or something like that I like to just go with it and know I have the edge cause if you don't have the edge.... and im like, thinkin, im like, thinkin to myself, what the heck is this guy talkin about, no mayonaise in ireland? what does that have to do with anything?
so im thinkin, hey maybe he's tryin to be clever and sayin somethin totally meaningless to catch me off guard, so im like two can play that game eh, so yeah, so i says back, i says, yeah, i says hey man there's no ketchup in australia!
well he gives me this quizzical look like im totally off my nutter ya know, then he just walks away.
it wasnt until later that i realized what he really said was no man is an island. and the more i thought about it, i was like, you know what, it's really the truth you know.

Not if you have showdown value. If you have a weak pair or something that beats villain's bluffs but not any of his value hands, there's no value in raising.wouldnt this be a good spot for a re-raise and not a smooth call?
Sometimes when someone takes longer then they have most of the time, they could easily be weighing there options and seeing if its worth tryying to steal the pot, of a quick all in after the flop when tehy have been playing aggresive
I know this doesn't necessarily pertain to online play, but I have found in live poker the moment someone starts talking while you are making a decision, way more often than not they are bluffing... I know this is a broad blanket statement but literally if I am on the fence over a call or a fold, and they start talking, I typically just call at that point lol
frequency....what do people look for online that are signs someone is bluffing?
