So on the poker site I play on there is this one player who is down a lot and has traditionally been a total mug.

a guy I am happy to play rushing to play.

well that has not been the case the last two days this guy has played like one of the toughest regs i have ever encountered. and yes they were having the best of me.

well since i play on small sites now because got fed up of poker stars i have got friendly with a few of the other regs so i wanted to check if it was just me having a funny moment or if something is going on.

so i texted a few of the other regs to ask if they noticed something about this guy.

every single one has said yes there is definitely something weird going on and hes been owning all the regs.

unless this player has had some sort of over night transformation its not the same player its definitely not.

and the thing is someone capable of learning the game that quickly from training or research would have had a high enough IQ to have worked out not to do the awful plays i have seen previously.

maybe its his pro mate showing him how to do it or maybe he sold the account or something but should i be reporting this because its someone else playing on the account clearly.

Impossible to prove beyond doubt, amend your notes accordingly and move on.

You can always report to support, and leave it up to them if they think something is going on, but as SATB said, just note his change and play accordingly.

Maybe he is letting his friend play on his account. Maybe you should report it and the site might be able to see if there's anything going on.

I don't think there is any rule against that. You could ask support and find out.

Curious how much of a sample size do you have on this player? Also 2 days worth Isn't really much to base anything of've (Unless you and him are playing like 20+tables, for so many hours).

As has already been stated, change notes and move on.

P.S, I once reported 2 players In a CC game on Stars (they weren't members of CC) and the staff reported back that they both got the "Ban Hammer" on Stars cuz of their odd plays, so If you seriously feel that this "Might" be the case, than report It to the staff and let them do the investigation but IMO I think It could just be you over thinking It cuz this player Is running well or (not saying It could be this), but you're just steaming

My experience has been you can report things till you are blue in the face and it does no good. 60 Minutes did an expose on this. The online poker sites are regulated by a bunch of old drunk Indians that don't care what happens as long as they are getting a check. Good luck!:D:D

I agree, and the websites will too, unless you have actual data from a good sample size to share, no one will take your questions seriously. You can not just go to the site admins and say you think an account is not the same person without giving them evidence as to why - can you imagine how many reports of this nature they get from everyone who has ever had a real bad beat from who they considered to be a DONK player or an ass-chatter- if they launched an investigation every time they would have to hire a whole staff of people just to do that, when most of the claims will end up being false. When they took down the UB god account players they had regs giving them a ton of data showing why they thought this was the case.

If you have this data - accurate and concise data, then give it to them - or us cause id like to see it too - but without it no one will listen.

You may just be over thinking it, players play differently all the time. Ive been on bad runs for a few weeks then ran hot for a month, may have freaked out some people who first met me at the beginning of the bad run. You also could be right, but dont let that scare you or make you tilty

Wow, bitter

Ive said it once and Ill say it 10000 times, if you play anywhere except pokerstars or 888 (maybe Bovada) then you are taking a bigger risk than most. But these two I think are very solid organizations now.

look i am a heads up reg, some things can be disputed but you can tell when someone is playing well and someone is playing badly.

he was always awful for two days he played really well and today played him again and he was awful.

this isnt just run of the cards you see cards and show downs etc to. you can get a good idea.

my best guess is they are awful player but there friend was showing them how to do it. and there friend is a very good player.

I dont think its worth reporting as its nion impossible to prove, I just dont like been mis led on who I am playing I think I am playing someone I know toi be easy pickings and all of a sudden its a professional on there account. I am sceptical of

pokerstars and 888

#pokerstars for a few reasons,

1. they change the rake and the rewards program so much yes I can say I can beat these games today but they have killed my game choice twice now with changes eliminating one entirely and making changes to the other that makes it unbeatable. sure I can say I am a winner on stars today but how can i know tomorrow they wont eliminate the game up the rake drastically or do something else.
I am sure this is a risk with every site but most of all the other sites are relatively stable and are not making massive changes.

2. as things currently stand pokerstars is only worth it if your in the elite reg class and I am not. I can scrape an income together and I like to think with hard work do better. but if your playing anything below $50 buy in games (I play hypers so $50 buyins would be large etc) the standard is much higher on stars then else where. so I can either play lower buyins or take smaller margins depending on my ability etc i might not be able to beat the same buyin level on stars and if i can it wont be for as much.

so suppose I was in the elite class looking to play $200 buyins and up and ready to take on almost anyone there is no argument stars is the place to be simply for game volume and etc.but low to mid stakes grinders will do much better elsewhere.

as for 888

well cant say all that about them they have a reputation for been a soft site, my concern is they are one of only two poker sites I know of who banned players for winning. I guess thats not an argument though because they wont confiscate funds and may as well take what i can whilst i can.

so yes it might be an idea to move some funds into 888 I mean its only good for game volume to be sitting in more then one lobby anyway.

and yes I have earned my seat now the regs leave me alone but they wont be happy with me sitting four tables in lobby they will still pick fights if i do that and i dont fancy multi table reg wars so yes I guess 888 is a good shout I will move some funds there after exams.

Just sounds like you are hacked off that somebody you previously bumhunted is now learning how to play and is becoming less profitable for you.

Any form of irregularity proven player could be banned, but this should be confirmed with exact constructive evidence.

maybe he is like an alcoholic, drug or gambling addict, or just a maniacal player - all of these things would describe what you are saying perfectly

Maybe one day brother plays and the other one is for sister, or man and wife, or...one is good and one is learning
or just he/she learnt how to play or is more focused on the game

It is all a moot point who plays other than the account holder, as this is strictly against TOS.

I have also heard people do things like lie on their taxes and watch porn in the internet.

Is there any reason why he couldn't have played bad deliberately to let regs think he is bad, then when he sees he is bum hunted he then play optimally to fleece the regs who think he is a fish.

How long has he been playing with you.

This Is why you are scary to play against. I swear I didn't even think to bring up this point. You truly think outside of the realm of normalcy/box:)

Think about it, if he is new to those tables and knows the others are regs and has been watching them play for a while, then he sits in and makes himself look fishy by calling with 2nd pair knowing that his opponent has him beat.

Do that for a week or 2, and losing a small amount over that time could lead to winning big pots over a few days when he plays and traps with a better hand, look at how confused the OP is over this.

I don't do it all the time and def not in CC games, but when blinds are low I'll deliberately make myself look bad if I can get away with it cheap, you'd be surprised at how many people fall for it, especially if you have someone raising pre often and tries to bully the table, they just think aggression will always get the fold and can't understand when you call their bluff.

This was 1 guy I ran into recently that didn't like a few of my hero calls. :D he was calling me the K word every time,
I didn't say a word until my Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

1st off its very easy for the support crew to determine and ban the fishy play by just looking at the computer name the user is signing in on and the location of the IP address. If these dont match his personal account info like address or even country he will be banned.

That said I agree with the guys that said report it(let the chips fall where they may), but also note it move on. Dont be like me get mad and go on tilt.

PS Zobra Ive seen you pull that move quite a bit in league ;) ... Dont say you dont do it on CC games :D

So you've been playing like sh1t on purpose? Wow... you totally had me fooled! (I just figured you were sh.1t)

Love the 'game chat'... Very awesome! ha ha ha ha ha.

OP, maybe the guy has a drinking problem? Or maybe he doesn't care about the money... but then occassionally does.
