What are your thoughts on using a shot clock for the home game?

My home games are a gathering of friends and we don't get that many occasions to all be together socializing. So needless to say, there's a lot of banter/chatter at the table and often myself or the dealer (we take turns dealing) tends to give players a friendly nudge, just to get them to realize it's their turn and to act. Nobody tends to tank, our problem seems to be table distractions that lead to slower play.

I like the socializing element as much as everybody else at the table but really feel the need to solve the above issue.

Came across this App in the chrome store http://www.agilepokerclock.com/clock and was thinking maybe if I had my laptop to hand would it improve the game for me.

Really keen to somehow improve the speed at which players act and yet keep our occasions as fun as they've always been. Tricky task
