I was told by Storm and JuiceeQ that this site is unreliable and not to count on it for stats.

I cannot see, for the life of me, where it has gone wrong in registering my results. Even if it had missed 10% of my games, people could still see my trend near accuracy.

Could someone let me know why this site is "unreliable" to them?

For the past year or so it's been very reliable - it had problems missing some results a long while ago but it seems fine now - my results match 99% accurately with my PT records.

It can perhaps be a little deceptive in that no account is taken for people who may have let a friend/family member play on their account for a while or something, but that's all I can think of.

It only takes into account SnG's. If that's all you play, it's pretty accurate.

Some people are much better at ring than tourneys and the sharkscope stats don't show that.

Assuming a decent enough sample size then you can infer some things from the stats. How someone is running in the last 10 or 20 though doesn't tell you much.

In this case, I think that the term "unreliable" should not directed at any errors or missing data at Sharkscope. I think it more applies to how the data is so vague. Sure, you can see if a player wins a lot and what level he plays at. But you can't see if he's loose or tight, aggressive or passive, lucky or unlucky.

There was another thread close to this subject a while back. Check it out here:

No daft question mate (only rude answers :) )

Some of the sites publish results in a way that can be gathered automatically by sites like Sharkscope, Officialpokerrankings and a couple of others. All they have is the results which they stick in a database and work out your in the money %, wins etc.

I think sharkscope is an accurate enough indication of someones ability, you cant have a +ROI over 1,000 SnG's by being lucky.
