What is sharkscope? I've been hearing of it lately and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about it.

Its a website that you can put our poker id in and it will tell you how prfitable youve been and breaks down info for you. you can also search other players to get an idea of how good they are.

It should be pointed out that sharkscope only collects data on tournament and SNG's. no cash game info can be found there.

free

You can look up 5 players a day for free,, if you want to use it for more than that per day you have to join. Not sure what the cost is. I'm a penny pincher so I haven't joined.

Take Care,

There is also OPR, Official Poker Rankings which gives you more information and is completely free. http://www.officialpokerrankings.com/

But like was already said both of them only collect statistics on SnGs and tournaments, not cash games.

www.pokertableratings.com tracks cash games, but only at 0.50/1$ and above.

And like D´wilius said your not alowed to have OPR,SS or PTR open while the poker client is running, but its perfectly fine to use them for post play analysis ;).

I looked on sharkscope and they have like a table opener for SNG's wouldn't you have to have your poker client open to use that feature, and why is it illegal? Does it give you some sort of edge or something?

Yea a buddy of mine was using it during his play and got a email from pokerstars stating that it was against pokerstars rules to use that software and if he continued his account would be banned

My personal opinion is that unless you're playing at really high levels these stats mean nothing anyways. You're not likely to find any real great stats or indications about most of the players you run into. Unless the player has really strong stats, the only thing you know about the person is that they are sporadic(or less than) in winning. You also don't know how well they do in ring games. Personally I never do and never would use any of these programs. Just my opinion

It's great for easily tracking your own sng/mtt play, as well as for stakers. Also, it is a nice tool to judge the quality of regulars you face.. which would give you an edge as you can adjust your play against them.
