I have heard players say many times at tables, " I just scoped ya", or words to that effect, referring to "sharkscope". All I can say is go ahead and "scope" me anytime you like, and please play me based on there info. To kill some time I "scoped" myself today, what a crock of doggie doo their database is. According to them, my stats @ FT are as follows,

GP 6
Av Profit -$2
Av Stake $2
Av ROI -15%
Total Profit -$10 :D :D :D

What a load of bollocks, and people actually pay for this info, they must be off their trolly.
I just checked my transaction history at FT, actual results are as follows,

May 2008 deposit $55
GP 28
Av stake $6
Av profit $6:57
Av ROI 109.5%
Total profit $352

Which means I've also made a profit of $57:92 playing micro ring Razz.:D

Gotta luv FT.

1. Who cares what other people think?

2. I believe it only tracks sngs, not big MTTs.

3. If you really want to you can block yourself.

IF I played 6 sngs with an average of $2 stake and a av profit of -$2, surely my av roi is -100% and a total profit of -$12 ?. I actually played 4 and cashed in 2 50% itm.

Most of those databases are not completely accurate. One had me playing $200 buyin PL Omaha tournaments - I've played maybe 10 Omaha games, all free, I sure wouldn't play at that buyin, another had stats on my play in a time period before I even started playing!!!

I think most players know those databases at least have some erroneous data within them. It seems that a lot of players want to think they have an edge on you, want you to believe they do and can't wait to tell you all about it in minute detail..

Whatever happened to really having an edge, having the discipline to shut up about it and lowering the boom on your poor, unsuspecting opponent?

Games Played Av. Profit Av. Stake Av. ROI Total Profit Form
124 -$3 $5 - 1%- $330 Tilt

I guess I am tilting. And yes it does include MTTs, but some of the qualifier based entries are not showing correctly (I am not really down anywhere near these numbers). Also Officialpokerrankings is not entirely accurate as to the satties.

It may help if you play bigger money games alot, for most of us,it means nothing.specially if you play mostly freerolls...i dont ever bother looking at sharscope. It dont even come into mind.
unless i change and start playing sng games or big money games,im not concerned.

I say, "Scope me and see that I suck, then cry later when I crush you at the table":D
While it is true my sharkscope stats suck, that is not a reflection of my ring game/MTT abilities.
Maybe I suck at $1 SnGs because I want to, maybe I want the most horrible SnG stats ever so those at my table will feel comfortable calling my monster hand:D (think about it)

I would be surprised if you deliberately lose at $sng to get bad stats.

lets say a ppl has bad stats on scope, his recent results from the night before are hes lost his last 8 sngs, you have got to put them on being a poor player, I no a lot of ppls with bad stats are good, but using their recent results with their stats does paint a picture.

Sharkscope is a very useful tool for SNG grinders at mid stakes and higher. When grinding the $22 SNGs and higher, you run into a lot of regulars playing hundreds of SNGs per week with 5%+ ROI. Those are very decent players. There's just no way to have an edge higher than the rake against those people, and so table selection becomes hugely important. And for that sharkscope is great. And it's damn accurate at these stakes for regulars.

On the other hand, it's less accurate and totally useless for lower stakes SNGs. Those are all full of fishes anyway.

I don't care to play SnGs too much and do on occasion throw a 1 dollar SnG just to have bad sharkscope stats, smart BRM? maybe not, but I can make a dollar in a matter of a hand at a ring game, so there really is no loss and IMO, I would rather pay a couple dollars to help decieve my opponents who rely on sharkscope to help them make decisions.

i dont like sharkscope. i think its very inaccurate and i wouldnt base my play off of it. it poorly keeps track of sng stats only. and i agree with belgo. any low stakes sng is open sea as far as im concerned

I have recently had the same experience with "poker-edge". That software/site reports me to be a "greenfish" which is loose/passive/passive.

At first I was kind of hurt.

I'm not saying my play is great... and I *am* loose. But I am not usually exactly 'passive'.

Then it dawned on me that bad information is good for me. I imagine it just doesn't have enough hands on me yet. Prolly someone with the software was sitting at a table for 25 hands when I was tilted or something.

By the way, I think Sharkscope and Poker-edge are massive collusion and consider them tools of the slightly dishonest. I imagine there may be much disagreement with that statement here.

I dont know why anyone takes sharkscope seriously. Its so wrong in its figures its absolutely unreal.

Example

I got a free $10 play on party poker, so used it up. Never deposited.

Yet amazingly it tells me I am $16 down..

Can some mathemetician explain how I can lose MORE than I ever had in there in the first place...

Any time anyone ever says they have scoped me, I laugh and tell them that they are the bigger idiot for believing the shite they come out with...

I am with you there bro...

THeir figures are so wrong its untrue.

I have accounts that I've never deposited into and yet they tell me I have a negative ROI.. How can you have a negatove ROI if you've never invested anything in the first place..

All you have to do is play 2 SnGs, win them for a total of $8 win/$6 profit.
So you had $10+$6(profit)=$16 and subsequently lose it, therefore you have lost $16.
