I haven't seen this discussed in too many poker books, but Ive noticed that by playing a very loose and aggressive type of poker, that looseness and aggression is contagious to the other players in the ring.

I've been trying to hone this observation by fluctuating my playing style, with not the best success (because being loose and aggressive is addictive and usually ends up placing me in too many marginal situations and losing my money). Yet, I think there is quite a bit of potential for making this observation profitable..

Basically you play a small ball strategy or a home run hitter strategy with an emphasis on raising hard preflop instead of limping in. Do it with shit.. Do it often.. Often enough for people to realize your raising too much, and no more than that. Try to achieve a good 10 minutes of playing like this.

Raise harder when you get called.. Most people are waiting to catch a hand to play back at you.. Most aren't aggressive enough to play you back with shit (unless you playing stakes that are higher). 3/4 or Pot size bet on the flop, no matter what the flop is, and hope that because you are being so aggresssive, that your stack builds up.. Hope you don't get caught or go broke..

Bet/Raise until the end with shit... Show your shit... gain that terrible image of being an aggressive maniac....

Then as soon as you achieve this, put on the breaks and change gears to Tight Aggressive.. and then go into maintain mode.. Do the preflop raising often enough to make it seem like you haven't backed down, but try to do it based on cards, and not on shit..

Chances are, that people got a shot of andrenaline and neuropherine shooting through their system and might loosen up quite a bit.. If you play contrary to their style, you've got a decent chance to profit, and people are going to remember that your an aggressive maniac, not a tight conservative player..

I think the trick to playing this in freerolls is to wait until you have a big enough stack to justify playing this way, because your going to need some chips to invest in this style of play... Which means playing conservatively and tight/aggressive until you have the opportunity to unleash the beast. Enough players are loose anyways during the beginning of freerolls to make this strategy ineffective.

Also, you want to be playing tightish players with a VPIP of less than 35 ideally...

TLDR: Go loose/aggressive, until the tbale is loose and aggressive (its contaigous) and then tigthen up and cash in.

I think that everyone should choose for himself the style of the game, since not everyone can go to the end on a bad map)

If that's your style. .then that's your style but playing like a maniac isn't for everyone.
